Great Plains Dinosaur Museum — Attraction in Malta

Very small museum with amazing dinosaur bones. You can spend an entire half of hour looking around. What a great small town attraction. Some of the bones have left for Indiana, the reason, not told. Money well spent when supporting local places. Nice break if passing by Malta. Parking is great and 100% free. There is a trail in the back of this profound ammenitie. My partner and I signed up for their week long dinosaur dig program. It was such a great time learning more about how and where to find bone, and so much more. The Director, Harris Boekenheide graciously ran the tour, and was endlessly informative on all things dinosaur. At the end we got to clean up some bone specimens too. Museum has very hands on exhibits and describes what has been discovered in the region well. Additionally, museum hosts digs in the summer where you can experience the process these scientists go through to extract a skeleton from the earth.
