My 4 year old daughter and I attended this facility today as a part of the Parents as Teachers program. My cousin also attended with her mother and 3 small children. This place was a disaster. The owners left a lot to be desired with their behavior. The wife spent the entire time on the megaphone micromanaging every moment, my daughter and I arrived at 10:20 and instructed to immediately get in line to ride the last wagon ride of the day despite the farm being rented out from 10-12:30. She constantly berated parents about making sure their children left the bounce pad with socks and shoes and she doesn’t know how parents don’t notice their kids don’t have socks and shoes on. The husband and his older son ran the wagon ride where you fed the animals. He spent most of his time monologuing about how we needed to keep our small children in the trailer and to not do things to put himself or his son in danger. A small girl was pecked by an emu and had a small gash on her palm. She was crying and he didn’t even notice or care. As the ride came to an end, the husband asked us all to come back and pay next time because ‘we have a lot of animals we gotta feed’.
Immediately after getting off the wagon, we were all instructed to use the handwashing station ‘just grab the hose and wash your hands if you want but I don’t know why it matters because you’re going to get dirty anyway’ and to exit the area. Children were not allowed to play in that area anymore as we were directed to move to their ‘putt putt golf’ and ‘play ground’ (read 4-5 astroturf covered ply boards with hole cut out and a swingset with 2 swings, a single slide and a swinging papasan thing) and ‘bubble spot’. Parents were still arriving as families arrived as their schedules permitted.
The wife only communicated with parents through the megaphone, yelled at parents, yelled at children, told families if they wanted to ride the wagon they should have shown up on time and it’s not her fault they’re late- despite neither PAT or the attending families knowing anything about there being a specific itinerary. She then started yelling through her megaphone asking who was in charge. It’s a husband and wife that own and operate this “farm” and they didn’t even know who was in charge of the group?? We instructed them to the appropriate individuals and left.
As we left, I saw the husband and wife owners get into a verbal altercation with a family, the husband was yelling at and berating the parents, and he flipped the family off as the family left. The mother of the child was physically distraught and told me that the owners kicked her out because she told them to stop yelling at children through her megaphone, and then they kicked her husband and small child out and said they were calling the cops. The Parents as Teachers organization is run by DHS and geared primarily for children who are pre-k aged or younger. The actions of these owners today were absolutely abominable. I didn’t see a single parent act rude or disrespectful. The children were all too young to understand what was going on. I personally have no desire to be micromanaged by some woman with a megaphone.
We will not be back. We did not get a pumpkin because we didn’t want to be berated via megaphone about it not being the appropriate time...
Read moreWe visited Circle D Funny Farms for the first time today with our P.A.T. progam, this Farm/pumpkin patch was awsome!! We had a blast. The owners are really amazing people, very passionate about their animals, and have such a beautiful place for families to come out and have an experience. My kids loved everything they had to offer, from the wild life ride, feeding the really sweet animals they all have rescued and or raised/bottle fed. The mini golf, zipping, slides, all the other farm animals. I would like to also mention how patient, respectful, and professional the owners were today in a circumstance they were put in due to a lady in the same program we are in. She was very disrespectful, rude, and trying to feel intitled to things when she was the problem. They handled it respectfully, professionally.
We will definitely be...
Read moreGreat experience for our family. Staff was all very friendly. Lots of animals to interact with and feed. I loved the pigs and the horses in the petting zoo area. The hay ride safari was very cool and love that it was included in the admission price. The zebras are so pretty and it was such a cool experience to be able to feed and pet them. The tour guide was funny and told us about all the animals out there in the field. My 3 boys had so much fun. It was a little busy when we came but everything is so spread out and there's so many stations and activities that it's not an issue at all. My kids were able to do everything and had a lot to keep them entertained the whole time we were there. The place is very well maintained and clean. It was our first time coming and we will definitely make it our tradition to come...
