Very busy, especially on the weekend, a bit of a tourist trap, 60' columns don't look more than 30' to me, and if you've seen the ubiquitous photo, that's basically it for the monument, takes about 15 minutes. I also went up to the trail around the back to the top of the 'pile where several folks with large cameras were very interested in the hexagonal rocks, and there was nothing preventing a 60' plummet over the side.
We also walked down the Rainbow Falls, wearing our hiking gear, hats, with snacks and plenty of water, but along the way we learned this up and down 5 miles round trip wilderness trail can also be accomplished by folks of all ages, from babies in arms to tiny children in flip flops to the out of shape and the elderly, exposed directly to the sun, without any supplies or experience. There were rainbows in the falls so I was satisfied.

Trail is very pretty and well maintained. The Parking area is fairly small. There are a few restrooms there, not super clean, but helpful when you need them. Awesome scenery.
