Mostly lovely place to visit, except that people come and they get loud. The biggest exception to which seems to be the fire brigade that showed up while I was trying to enjoy my coffee and having themselves a bro moment. LOUD. Definitely. Didn't have to worry about any bears. They definitely scared him off for me. Probably scared off everything as a matter of fact. The birds, the bugs, the mosquitoes....man they were loud. Oh, and also the toilet wasn't unlocked so.... if you're gonna bring your coffee up make sure that you have enough time to make it back to town before...

Truly spectacular. Breaktaking Views.

I lived in California for over 40 years and would always plan to come this way but never made it here until now.

The day I visited could not have been more perfect: clear sky, 72° summer day.

What took me by surprise was that in the middle of August there were still patches of snow on the ground about a foot high! It turns out that this area got well over 700 inches of snow in the record setting winter of 2022-2023.

This is definitely a must see, just the drive up Highway 395 on the back side of the Sierras is worth...

What a great place, fairly close to Mammoth. We went down to join the star gazing community to see the Perseids. It was a great night as the moon was dark. I liked this photo the best, long exposure seems to have caught a meteor? Oddly enough, it was the opposite sky than the meteor shower was to be happening. Also got some aurora borealis too with the deep red hues. Recommend taking a trip in late summer to check it out. Mind your speed when you come up into the loop as there’s normally people all about...
