EXCEPTIONAL⭐️PARK⭐️PLAY⭐️EXPLORE While at Mammoth I was looking for a quick spot to take my pup for a walk. The park is only a couple miles from the Ski resorts, but as soon as we drove in it felt like it's own secluded magical forest. There roads become soft dirt roads. There is loads of hiking trails and picnic areas. There is also a skateboard/bike park, with ramps small enough for young kids. There's a baseball field, and volleyball sand area. Everything is sectioned off nicely, but feels open and accessible. I did see several potty bag containers for pets. The signs posted as that all dogs stay on leash. There is ample parking. We parked and walked into the trees instead of the park. The wind was howling and there was still snow on the floor, which my pup loved. We walked for quite a ways and saw lots of blue birds and noticed golf spots sprinkled around the forest, as well as Frisbee golf stands, which made us feel very safe and comfortable. After an hour we walked back to the car. There's little service in the dense trees, but after a short walk (10 min) in any direction the GPS picks back up. Charge your phone. Enjoy!

Beautiful park to handout with the family. They have a playground for the little ones and basketball courts for the teens along with a huge field with the most amazing grass. We went with our X-Country group and the kids played all kind of games with a soccer ball and just old fashion tag. On Tuesday we were there, they had a running group that was giving some tips to students hosted by ASICS. The runners got to listen to some Olympic champions give them running tips and how to deal with failure. I think this groups meets on a weekly basis at the park in the off-season.

We stopped at Shady Rest Park after checking out of a Mammoth Lakes camp site. We wanted to get in some park time for our kids before a long drive. We didn't see the park come up when we searched for a playground in Mammoth Lakes, but we saw a sign as we were driving through town. I'm so glad we did! The name was accurate. It was a very hot day, but the playground was shaded nicely. The boys had a great time and got their energy out before we hit the road for our long trip home.

This is a beautiful place and wonderful to take your dogs off leash and let them run around. The sprinklers went off and my dogs loved it! People are riding their bikes along the trails and will stop to talk to you and make friends which is honestly very common in that area. It's wonderful to be driving through there and seeing all the beautiful trees and everything but I would caution you that you might get a lot of pollen on your car. Easy entrance, easy exit and plenty of parking. They are also paths along the way that you can stop and go hiking and places to drop your trash. I wasn't looking for any restrooms but I imagine they have some because they do have a lot of people going...

Excellent place to say close to town. Fishing stream runs right through it. Always catch fish there. Good sites. Mostly good people. Campground host gets a 10 out of 10. Very helpful. Very nice. 2 days this week a campground host quit and a campground host from somewhere else. Came over to fill in 2 days a week. This guy was an a* let me repeat a* do not want to be there. Did not want to do his job. Yelled at kids should be fired. Never allowed to do the job again. Don't want to do something. Don't do it other than this a** it shouldn't be working. It's a...
