I sent all three of my children to Camp IHC this past summer. The camp was extremely diligent about keeping excellent COVID-related safety measures in place (we had to get them tested prior and the camp tested the kids yet again upon arrival, among other things). My children had the best time. They want to return next summer. The staff was warm and friendly and professional. It was an all-around awesome experience for all of us. A special kudos to Camp Leaders Nico and Mark for everything (including the incredible photos!)!! Thank you!!!

After working with the Camp IHC team for six years I can ensure any camper or parent or staff member that this is the place to be. I have personally witnessed the time, effort, and devotion the leadership team puts into making this small spot on the map feel like Disney World. After a successful, completely COVID free summer, I can honestly say that they think of everything to make sure both campers and staff are safe, happy and healthy. And I can’t imagine what magic next year will bring.

Modern camp site with air conditioned cabins, wifi throughout the grounds, a nice private lake to enjoy water activities. The staff are professional and friendly. Great for corporate event or team building. The cabins are clean, the showers are hot, and the main dining hall is very cool in the summer. 2.5 hrs drive from Newark.

This place traumatized me. The facilities were very nice, and so are most of the staff, but that is not why I am giving this camp one star. I went here as a camper for 6 summers, and the children there are the meanest people I’ve ever experienced. Throughout my time at camp I was excluded, teased, and made to feel like I was weird and not good enough. I know many girls of all different ages who were relentlessly bullied by other campers. Not only that, counselors have even been bullied by campers. One year, someone ripped the cover off of my counselors diary, and a group of girls would bark at her constantly. They say this is an inclusive space for everyone, but it is not. While the staff has more diversity, the children do not, and in fact, they seem to respect counselors who weren’t campers much less. Anyone who was not like them was made to feel horribly. I desperately wanted to go home at least 3 times a summer, and the last summer I was there I begged my counselor for a phone call home. It isn’t usually allowed, because they only allow you to talk to your kids 2 times over the phone, for 10-15 minutes! But my mother had called the camp and said if I needed a phone call, I would get one. I was sobbing in my head counselors office, having a panic attack, and was denied a phone call. Meanwhile, there was a kid in the other room calling HIS parents about his broken iPod. When I hurt my leg and was in a knee brace, I was told I would have access to golf cart rides so I could get up the massive hill to my bunk. However, it was not accessible to me in the slightest, and I had to walk up an unpaved, steep path with many roots with a knee that couldn’t even bend. The owners have progressively throughout the years stripped the camp of its spirit, making the facilities nicer, but stripping the camp of its history. Many older, cherished buildings were torn down. They say they are a camp where everyone can do whatever they like, yet the arts get significantly less attention there! Not only that, i have heard more than one conversation between a camp owner and a group of older children where the children were absolutely berated and insulted. While the situation did call for a sit down talk, there is no excuse to talk to children like that. I have heard children be called something along the lines of nasty, horrible girls, and other things. Not to mention that, but the camp is horribly strict. I used to think it was normal, but when I finally left and went to a different camp I realized it is not. Girls were subjected to strict dress code rules. No crop tops or short shorts, which I get, but we were not allowed spaghetti straps, or anything but athletic bathing suits. And no stomach showing. Meanwhile, boys walked around shirtless! And the camp owner said it was to remain “body neutral” but it didn’t help. In fact, it created more of a problem. Do not send your...

A summer at Camp IHC is simply transformative. Not only is it a blessing to spend time in the most gorgeous and pristine facility, but also the community is absolutely unparalleled. Every camper and staff member is loving and supportive and I have been privileged enough to grow up in an environment which loves and supports me unconditionally. IHC campers are alleviated of the academic and social pressures they may face during the year; each child is simply tasked with having fun. Lauren and Joel are exemplary directors and role models who have played a vital role in my childhood and left an indelible impact on the person I have become. Each day is a gift spent at Camp IHC. I am forever grateful to call this place my second home and these people my second family. 💙🤍
