Instructor just a title- zero instruction I took a class for adults first season snowboarding on Saturdays: 10am-12pm Projected Dates: 1/4, 1/11, 1/18, 1/25 with two classmates. The instructor was a young lady who just told us to go up the lift and slice downhill. She did not correct any mistakes or show something new. My friend and I learned from YouTube and TikTok practiced together. On the final day, she gave us incorrect grade levels 7-8, highest!? We were wasting time on one season. I came back to the second session. I got lucky to play with young guy TY- great instructor with two new classmates. He taught us professional as required on the book level 7 to level 8 and somethings we wanted more advance. On the last day TY got an exam, he could not finish with us. Again, the same young lady replaced. The same way, she did not know how to find out our mistake and needed a guy following us four times. One classmate was upset and quit the class after one hour, he said: “She didn’t know everything!” After that one guy hurt, she was around with him and one more time uphill and gave us grade level. What do you guess? I got level 6 and another guy level 4 –Surprise, backward result after we worked hard a month! With me, it did not big deal with level number, but I let you know: McIntyre have a problem quality instructor “just a title- zero instruction.”

Sweet sweet little McIntyre Ski area! It is the smallest of all ski areas in New England, but is overflowing with charm :). Located at 50 Chalet Way in Manchester, it’s easy to get to, close to everything and is so much fun! My senior hubby gets a season’s pass for $30! What a value! Whenever the conditions are good, we stop there for a 1/2 day skiing while running errands or seeing a show in Manchester! It makes for a fun bit of exercise and keeps the ski legs going. It is a beginner area, there is nothing here to challenge a good skier, and yet I’ve seen people, like ourselves, who may not want to drive the 60+ mins north to get to bigger areas, who’ll get out there and make 10-20 runs and call it a day. It’s awesome! It’s rarely crowded on weekdays before school is out so you’ll be making fast runs. Parking is ample. They have a great ski shop with all the necessary items. The lodge is actually beautiful and has a wonderful view of the slopes! The food is decent too. McIntyre does a great job with grooming and I would recommend this area to all learners and wannabe skiers :)⛷️ Staff is also very friendly!

Update (2/22/2019): Thank you Mr. Boisvert for reaching out and offered my daughters complimentary lesson. This time we scheduled for an evening lesson and it was the right choice. The evening is less crowded and plenty of lights. Although the snow condition was a bit icy, the girls had a lot of fun and learn so much that they say they are ready for the lift on the next trip. Thank you instructor Joshua for providing such a good experience. Original Review (2/3/2019): My daughters been skiing for the past 10 years and wanted a change so I signed them up for a Semi private SB lesson at McIntyre. The instructor end the lesson short by 10 mins and told us the hour was up. During the lesson I see him sitting on the slope more often then letting the girls practice. The most annoying part was I keep seeing him pulling out his phone, instead of teaching the lesson. Will probably get a better lesson watching YouTube and practiced in the backyard... Very disappointed with the instructor but the rental staff were very helpful.

First time bringing my kids here (5 and 6 year olds) and also a first timer myself. It had a decent size parking lot right next to cabin lodge area to check in. The facilities were clean. The people working there were friendly. We had such a great time! Really great family friendly atmosphere. The workers made sure people were clear down below before letting the next person go. There was 4 lanes. Each had small slopes that would propel you forward with more speed. My kids would not stop going up the magic carpet to keep on tubing. It took a little getting used to for us on the magic carpet but the kids got the hang of it really quickly. You can hook up your tube with more people and the workers help you with that. Some of the workers offered to “spin us” and my kids loved it. There was bathrooms in the lodge and a snack bar area which offered drinks and food. What a wonderful family fun winter activity. This place is a hidden gem! Can’t wait to go back!
