McIntyre Ski Area — Attraction in Manchester

We missed the previous tubing slot time. They told us to stand in line until the next slot was ready to be purchased which was at 6pm, the line started at 4:15. We were the second in line. We stood along with many other people exactly where we were told to stand, the lady in front of us, whom was first in line even called the office three times to triple check because we did notice other lines forming and the person said you're in the right spot.

The line was obvious and growing and employees were walking around no one approches us. Once the time got closer the lady that stood in front of us, who again was first in line went to the front desk asking when should we expect to get our tickets. They told her tubing was already sold out. A man with a radio and black vest said they were at capacity for tubing. How can that be if you can't purchase the tickets online and hundreds of us were in line to purchase tickets? He were unbothered. They need better communication and customer service skills.

We're coming from Boston and explained the situation and they eventually allowed us after really being persistent and knew we weren't going to take no for an answer but this was unacceptable. How many times has this happened? Is this how it's usually handled? How many other people has this happened to? How many other people had to stand in line for hours just to hear a no sorry we messed up, better luck next time attitude? The manager didn't even try to make it better for anyone else. First time here - great place to learn/teach. Quick ride from home. My lawn has no snow, 20 minutes up the road and they had plenty. Reasonable rental/magic carpet pricing. Hands down best magic carpet I've ever been on - easy on off and smooth ride. Taught four kids for their very first time, most were able to successfully complete bunny slope by the end of the afternoon. Rental shop was not my favorite, but grew on me as the day progresses. I started out frustrated, bc you rent one place, pick up another, bundle up to be outside but then stand inside and melt. I blame most of the annoyances on covid precautions, but by the end of the day, when it started to get busier, I appreciated the inconveniences/safety precautions. The second shift had it running smoothly. Visited the rental shop midday to tighten bindings on owned equipment, they were helpful and didn't laugh too much at my 20+ yr old board. Around 4pm it got busy with evening lessons, but before that we shared the bunny slope with ONE other rider. I was hesitant, looking for a larger mountain with good conditions to teach on, but I was very impressed with local hill, definitely recommend McIntyre for first timers and younger kids. My kiddos had a great first visit, and we will be back! Things to keep in mind, lodge is LIMITED, be prepared to walk back and forth to car rather than leaving belongings in the lodge. They had a nice little fire pit to warm up around, and picnic tables. Masks are needed inside any building.

Instructor just a title- zero instruction I took a class for adults first season snowboarding on Saturdays: 10am-12pm Projected Dates: 1/4, 1/11, 1/18, 1/25 with two classmates. The instructor was a young lady who just told us to go up the lift and slice downhill. She did not correct any mistakes or show something new. My friend and I learned from YouTube and TikTok practiced together. On the final day, she gave us incorrect grade levels 7-8, highest!? We were wasting time on one season. I came back to the second session. I got lucky to play with young guy TY- great instructor with two new classmates. He taught us professional as required on the book level 7 to level 8 and somethings we wanted more advance. On the last day TY got an exam, he could not finish with us. Again, the same young lady replaced. The same way, she did not know how to find out our mistake and needed a guy following us four times. One classmate was upset and quit the class after one hour, he said: “She didn’t know everything!” After that one guy hurt, she was around with him and one more time uphill and gave us grade level. What do you guess? I got level 6 and another guy level 4 –Surprise, backward result after we worked hard a month!
