Highly recommend everyone in the VT area come and spend some time at this farm, it is absolutely amazing. My sister and I stopped by last week and had the best time. They rescue all their farm animals (aside from those that are born on the farm from the rescued parent) - saving them from a terrible fate and giving them an amazing life.. they even make their own hay to feed the animals, a true hardworking farm. They are very kind and warm people who are more than happy to answer any questions you have about animals, their products they make and sell on the farm or just farm life in general.
You can walk around and visit all the animals, once you arrive they will ask if you want to take a guided tour of the farm - do it!! HIGHLY recommend it, it is the same small fee that you would pay to walk around on the farm yourself (it is a small 8 dollar charge that we were more than happy to pay and support small farms, this little fee goes a long way in helping keep these guys above water during these tough times) but with the tour you get to learn about the animals like their names and stories stories and where they came from -- as well as you get the added plus of going in the pen with a few of them and getting up close and personal. We did the tour with Meridian, she was AMAZING!! She is really passionate and super sweet, as well as knowledgeable - we learned a lot from her and had experiences we will hold on to forever such as holding 2 week old baby bunnies, petting the softest and sweetest white turkeys and the absolute personal highlight for me was getting to go in the pen with 2 baby calves!!!
They sell gorgeous produce grown right on the farm grounds - and also have a small store with local goodies and of course housemade cheese which is out of this world!!
If you are in VT or thinking of a nice little day trip, please pay these guys a visit - it is SO WORTH IT, I promise. The kindness, warmth and passion shown by everyone on the farm as well as the animals and atmosphere prove that the world can be a beautiful place even in the ugliest of times in society.
We can't wait...
Read moreWhat a wonderful small Vermont farm! This place is such a gem!! A farm that has cows, donkeys, horses, bunnies, goats, pigs, sheep, chickens, ducks, roosters, turkeys, alpacas - all of which you can get up close and personal with (only if you want to). You can tell the hard working farmers, David, Lysa, and Jesse love each and every animal by the care that is given daily. The chickens have a luxurious coop with a swing, the cows go out into the pasture daily to socialize and the animals will sometimes eat better than the farmers with the chickens getting warm oatmeal with blueberries and cinnamon on a cold winter’s morning. All of the animals have names and the farmers can tell you how each animal arrived at the farm. There are some animals that are bonded, like the two rescue donkeys, Happy and Lucky. The farm also produces and sells grass-fed raw milk, farm fresh eggs, fresh cheese curd (my favorite!!), aged artisan cheese, and much, much more. North Meadow Farm is the quintessential Vermont farm and a MUST when visiting Vermont. I ABSOLUTELY...
Read moreI couldn’t recommend a visit to this farm more highly. We spent over an hour with Lisa while she toured us around the beautiful property explaining the heart melting back stories to her wonderful rescue farm animals. She made sure we felt safe, comfortable, and that everyone got a turn to pet and love on all the new baby animals. Lisa is just an absolutely amazing, extremely kind, and inspiring person. I was truly touched by how much she clearly loves each and every animal and the deep appreciation she showed for her staff and volunteers + she was so generous with her time and expertise and patient with our questions. They also have Delicious ice cream (multiple people said every flavor is good but I loved the black raspberry, salted caramel, and double chocolate) and a variety of farm fresh food (highly highly recommend the everything bagel cheese curds) so don’t miss...
