The tour of this house absolutely blew me away. I am very familiar with Frank Lloyd Wright's works as I once lived a few farms down from his Taliesin. This house is one of seven usonian automatics that was actually built, and I've wanted to see it for years. Read moreI joined a tour available from the Currier museum and learned this is a Usonian automatic house. I was informed that means FLW would draw up the plans and the owners would build it themselves. The home is very interesting from the outside and looks very modern. This inside has lots of FLW details from his other homes although this one seems very cold and DC metro like, probably because lots of the original decor is missing. Unlike the first Zimmerman House, the Kalil House was acquired with very few furnishings and along with the cold cement interiors, it may feel less presentable though the Museum did very well to add what they could.
