I went earlier this month with my boyfriend and we were really excited because we love strawberries. We went for the Strawberry Festival and we were initially very thrilled to be there. Unfortunately, it went downhill fast. The fresh strawberries weren't from their Farm, they were store-bought. Most had mold on them. The strawberry donuts and strawberry bun were dry with a strange taste. The kitchen closed an hour and a half sooner than the lady at the front said it would. I wanted to buy a cinnamon apple cider from the fridge, but it said it expired in 2024 and the one behind it said 2023! Most of their activities were closed and there were still decor there from the Fall festivities. I saw a rotten pumpkin in the middle of an activity. An employee working in the gift shop was mean to a little girl and another working one gaslit us. My boyfriend and I noticed chirping inside an exhaust pipe in one of the pieces of farm equipment. When we brought it up, he explained that the machine makes that noise when it's powering down after being used. That piece of machinery looked like it hadn't been moved in months! The grass around it was completely untouched. Not to mention, the Hildebrand Farm products were far more expensive than they are in the town I live in. It wasn't a great experience. We couldn't really enjoy anything. I told my friend about this and he said his experience years ago wasn't the best. But, he mentioned that ours seemed worse.
Two moments were good. One was the soapy slide activity with this really chill employee that had a great sense of humor. The second moment were the encounters with Smokey and Ginger. The cat and kitten in the gift shop. They were really cute...
Read moreNot best for wheelchair. Slope is steep. Couldn't get over bump. I have medical limitations pushing a parent. Parent had to get out of chair so I could get wheelchair over bump, hoping parent would not fall due to leg issues. Then, advertisements for half melons and the cantaloupe were not there. Trying to maneuver a wheel chair in frozen frig area was too hard. Went in but could not turn around. The other direction, boxes on floor in places had to be moved to get around. Did buy quite a bit. When I go to Britts and other places individuals offer to help carry items to car as it is hard with a wheel chair. No offers. No help with door until someone outside saw and helped. Then having a whole watermelon, corn, potatoes, tomatoes, strawberries, glass jar items, etc., trying to take wheelchair backwards (parent would have fallen out otherwise), two large bags down the slope was nearly impossible. So much work and frustration did not make the visit fun. Parent had wanted to go back that following day for all the events, but there was no physical way to handle it. I went there three years ago. There area was cleaner this time and more updated, but we will not be going again. Besides the experience when we got home the strawberries under top row was all moldy, plus a few issues with other things. Oh,cats are friendly, however two kept getting in way and had to frequently stop to keep from hitting with...
Read moreIt was $19.99 per person to get in and let's face it, most adults aren't going there for the fun of it, we're taking our little ones. It wasn't very organized, there was really no one directing anyone as to where anything was. They didn't mention when buying already expensive wrist bands that there were more than 1 price wrist bands that allowed you to go down a different slide or play a shooting ball game. You had to buy feed for birds or goats at the "petting zoo" it was basically just goats and a few small horses aside from the parakeets in their enclosure. It was a lot of walking around with zero direction. If there was a maze I don't know what it was after 2hrs walking around with a 2yr old. The one slide you could apparently ride for the $20 wrist band didn't have but 2 super worn out bags to use on the worn out slide and it was self serve so the same family kept them and went on in repeat not caring that others were waiting. We didn't even get a pumpkin for the entry fee. Would never go again especially when I saw that Britts is $5 less, had way more attractions and was all inclusive for the entry fee, all attractions at and all free feed for the petting zoo. A&H just seems like a poorly kept up money grab for the season. The store was nice but honestly that's...
