This was a super cute beach off of Lake Michigan. There seems to be almost two separated sides of the beach, but the area furthest left was a different park we didn't get to traverse. Here you can walk out to a lighthouse over the water, or swim, sunbathe, have a fire, play on the SUPER classic style playground. (Just be careful because that equipment is dangerous. We watched a little boy flip right off the slide half way down.) There's a lot of boating and fishing off the pier. There is also a cute little service shack for food, beverages, bathrooms, and basic beach gear. I tried the turkey club, it was not good. They cannot modify the sandwiches either since they are premade. They did have an extensive amount of options available for such a little place. The soft pretzels were all gone which was a bummer. This beach was CLEAN! Not a single piece of trash was found on our walk from the parking lot to the lighthouse! We did not get to hang out on the beach, since it began to rain, but from what I could tell no litter! Thank you for maintaining this beautiful spot! ❤️ My five stars is for your diligent work in keeping our...
Read moreCame here to eat lunch while we were passing through Manistee. We stopped at the local brewery and got to go food. There area number of picnic tables available here to eat at. We ate by the pavilion which had a snack bar and also restrooms. The restrooms were clean. While there, we checked out the lighthouse which was a nice short walk. The beach was nice sand (not real rocky as some of the other towns in Northern Michigan are). It was really windy while we were there and also a bit chilly so we didn't swim but there were a number of people enjoying the beach. There's a volley ball net and a playground as well. The parking lot was not crowded while we were there but again, it was windy and chilly. Definitely worth checking out if you're...
Read moreNice public beach on the north side of the Manistee River. It’s a bit hard to find as you drive through a group of condos on the way. Water is very shallow for a long way out so it’s good for kids. The sand is clean. There is a bathhouse with flush toilets. Small playground which is old school. Handicapped accessible walkway which goes close to the beach. You can walk out on the pier. During the summer on Fridays there are sometimes yoga or tai chi classes there. It’s generally not as crowded as the main Manistee beach. You can walk to the north for quite a ways along...
