⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Ward’s Family Farm: Where Joy, Legacy & Flowers Bloom Side by Side 🌻🌿🐞
I finally made it to Ward’s Family Farm — and what I experienced was far more than a scenic stroll through flowers. This is a place of deep care, intergenerational wisdom, and radical hospitality. It’s a space where land is tended with integrity, where beauty is intentional, and where every guest is treated like they belong.
The Ward family has cultivated not just a flower farm — but a living love story to the land. They shared how they grow pesticide-free, how they use ladybugs 🐞 as natural pest allies, and how they breed and save their own sunflower seeds 🌻 — a legacy practice that made my heart leap. I asked question after question and every one was met with patience, joy, and generosity. ✨
As a future flower farmer myself, building a lavender-centered healing space, it was powerful to witness what it looks like to grow with ethics and excellence. Ward’s is a reminder that land work can be joyful, communal, and sustainable — especially when rooted in Black farming legacy and love.
🌸 Here’s what I saw and loved: • Rows of dahlias, zinnias, celosia, sunflowers, herbs, and native blooms • Fresh honey 🍯 from bees they keep on the property • Visitors of all ages — families, elders, nature first-timers — everyone was welcome • A flower bar/bouquet station 💐 (yes, I left with a bouquet!) • Real-time learning: how they plant, protect, and preserve without chemicals • Event options! You can rent the space for weddings or community events — stunning, peaceful, and sacred
💛 What I’d tell someone who’s unsure about visiting a flower farm: You don’t have to be a farmer or a nature lover to enjoy Ward’s. You just need curiosity and a willingness to breathe deep. There’s no pressure to “know” — just walk, wonder, and feel the beauty. The Ward family will meet you with warmth, whether you’re there to build a bouquet, take photos, or just be still for a bit.
This place left me inspired, grounded, and grateful. If you’ve been thinking about visiting — go. If you’re dreaming of farming — watch and learn. If you just need a moment of peace — you’ll find it here.
🌾🧺 Flowers are medicine. Land is teacher. Community is everything. Ward’s Family Farm is all three.

Read moreWas passing through the area and stopped in to walk the sunflower field, the woman at the front entrance was beyond ghetto and rude. Nasty tone and snippy demeanor when I asked a few questions. Was told "well you looked at the website" when I asked about purchasing entrance with cash. They do not take cash payments , the property at entrance didn't look nearly as nice as expected let alone worth 17$ just to enter the property. Maybe if the woman at the front had a small fraction of manners and provided friendly customer service I would have ordered tickets online but after that type of treatment I wouldn't...
Read moreWhat a beautiful time we had visiting the sunflower field at Ward's Farm! My wife and I spent about an hour slowly walking around the field, pointing out the different colors and sizes of the flowers, watching the goldfinches swoop down into the field, and watching all the pollinators. It was so lovely to be in open space. We picked 10 sunflower stems and bought a pre-arranged bouquet with the darkest marroon gladioluses I have ever seen.
The owners are so friendly...
