I stopped at this farm with my daughter and her friend to check out the lavender and take a few photos. Before coming I read the FAQ and photographer page. The page very clearly says the following:
I am definitely not a professional photographer and our photos would be for personal use. When we arrived we immediately went to the store and bought some products. I offered to pay the entrance fee, but was told I didn’t need to because the lavender was not in bloom. Indeed there was no lavender in bloom, and there were also no other visitors present.
The girls spent about 20 minutes eating ice cream and I fiddled around with my camera settings to try to get things right. We then took some photos, which took maybe 20 minutes.
Right before we were about to leave, a very rude woman marched up to us and told me, “We have a very strict photography policy.” I told her that I had read the policy, and that as long as I am not a professional photographer or influencer and that the photos were for my own use, it was fine. She told me that because I had a real camera and not just an iPhone, she considers it a professional photoshoot. I’m pretty sure that the word professional implies that the photos would be for profit, or that this is my profession, and neither of those things is true, so no…it was not a professional shoot.
I would also like to restate that there were no other visitors present while we were there, so we were disrupting nothing. In fact, if they had accepted the $5/pp entrance fee I was willing to pay, they would have made almost $30 total for the entrance fee plus ice cream while having to do absolutely nothing. We would have left in good spirits, tagged them on social media, all would have been well.
Needless to say, we will not be returning and we will not be recommending this place to anyone. Aside from how unnecessarily rude this woman was, if she doesn’t want anyone taking photos, they need to make this clear on their website, as we were well within the stated policies on...
Read moreMay 4th, 2025 will always be a special day for my husband and I, as we chose OVLF as our venue for our wedding. I do not have enough words to convey how beautiful the grounds are nor how grateful I am that came across this venue on a whim while scrolling through local areas near our home. My guests could not, and still have not stopped talking about how amazed there was a place like this minutes from our home.
Monica and Jim are the sweet, kind, and easy going people to plan and work with. Monica is truly an angel on earth with her ability to assuage fears and concerns any bride would get on their wedding day. She was responsive through email, phone, and text. She would even follow up with me just to check on how I was doing in general, not just about concerns of the venue or questions.
My wedding day came, and it POURED buckets, but I had no fear about it being ruined. Monica and the staff were there for me in every shape and form possible, they also provided an AMAZING Wedding Coordinator - Kasia (June Beri Events) who was a force of nature that rivaled the storm above that day. If there was any mishaps on my wedding, I have no idea that they happened nor do I have any clue that anything went wrong. My day was perfect even with the weather. The ceremony area was re arranged and honestly looked better than anything I have ever seen before. It truly was better than my own vision.
Monica also provides a list of vendors she has personally worked with and recommends, all of who were top notch and professional, accommodating and most importantly, made me feel confident my day was going to be amazing.
My husband and I have intentions of visiting the farm in the near future to enjoy a beautiful day and also enjoy their amazing lavender ice cream. It was such a hit at our wedding, it is definitely a MUST have.
I truly wish that anyone who would love an intimate yet spacious ground for scenery, come here. You will not be disappointed. We visited in dead winter for a tour and were able to see the beauty in it then. Don't sleep on coming to this beautiful slice of heaven tucked away in...
Read moreIt all started when I came across a blurry image of a lavender field on Google images as I was searching for a unique local wedding venue in NJ. Monica was just the sweetest to talk to over email and I had to go visit her property to see it in all it's glory for myself. We immediately fell in love with the farm and sweet scent in the air as soon as we walked up and felt like we teleported to a small village in the outskirts of France. More importantly, we fell even more in love with the lovely couple and owners of the farm, Monica and Jim. Especially after they told us that they had built everything on their property themselves, we were truly amazed and it is evident how much work and love they'd put in to their farm. Every corner you turn to is a special picturesque photo opportunity. We set our date with Monica during our first visit almost a year ago. From then, we were in constant communication with Monica throughout the whole process leading up to the wedding. They had hopes and just started the process of building an open air pavilion for future wedding receptions to be held there. Although, there was no guarantee that this would be completed in time for our wedding, Monica and Jim went above and beyond to do everything they could to have it ready by then. Our wedding day was absolutely perfect and the stars truly aligned, with the completion of the pavilion and the gorgeous weather for an outdoor wedding. Monica is just the most wonderful person to work with and her and Jim are genuinely the kindest people we've met. Finding the perfect wedding venue is important to us and we are so glad we met and have gotten to know Monica and Jim. We absolutely love them and any couple would be lucky to work with them! The love and pride in their work in so very evident everywhere you look on their property. They have truly created their own magical world here and we are so lucky to be able to have our wedding on their farm. Thank you for the absolute best experience and...
