At first, I was very impressed with the quaintness of this farmer's market. Located beside a beautiful river and nestled underneath some inviting shade trees. I casually walked up whilst enjoying the coolness of the air and admiring the plethora of freshly grown vegetables. However, quickly realized no one came to greet me. This striked me as odd because I wasn't exactly sneaking up on anyone. I had driven up in an 18-wheeler. After a few minutes I found some organically grown blueberries, figs and two different types of jellies made some what locally.
When I proceeded to check out I discovered the reason for no customer service. There were two ladies sitting in a booth with smartphones in their faces. I tried to strike up a conversation about the products that they provided and where they came from and other general questions. They acted rather uninterested and somewhat annoyed. I could almost hear them saying" hurry up, pay and leave already". Which I thought was a real shame because this place belongs in a country time lemonade commercial. Read moreI love this place! The atmosphere is so serene. You park under some of the most beautiful trees. When you shop you are always in the shade. Their vegetables are amazing. The corn on the cob is so flavorful and crisp. All you need is to warm it eat. The tomatoes are so delicious! I like ALL of the produce. Dog friendly, we took both our dogs and there were a lot of puppy kisses given. The peaches were much better than the peaches at the Ruston peach festival and cheaper.
