Temple is beautiful and very peaceful. But for those who wants to get married in the temple or outside the temple beware of the some priests as they would charge you unreasonably and spoil your special moment as they did mine.

I have lost all respect for the CHIEF PRIEST (apparently has 25 years of experience). We just had our wedding and he performed it in such a hurry that we didn't do the main rituals like VARMALA EXCHANGE, applying Sindoor, KANYADAAN ( bride’s parents cleaning the feet of the Groom), removed the brahma mudi immediately to take the money from it. And as soon as we finished the marriage i just stood up to take blessing from parents and he immediately called me (Bride) and asked for dakshina (apparently its around $1000) just the dakshina 🙏 why would a bride carry cash of $1000 on the mandap? While everyone staring at me with tears in their eyes because we just finished our wedding and then my husband who is american, he went to his parents and relatives asking for cash. It was HUMILIATING. He never said anything about $1000 when we met him before wedding. we did give him $300 which he mentioned when we met him so he kept asking for $1000 on the mandap not from my mother or sister who were right there but the bride who just got married and had so many emotions. Gave us a huge list of items and never used 75% of the items so yes we had to throw them away. Removed our mandap furniture because he didn’t like them. Changed the venue for gauri pooja last minute. Didn't do full 7 pheres.

You only get married once in your life and if someone spoils your special moment its very hurtful especially the one who is praying to the god everyday and who people trust blindly and also spoiled the reputation of Hindu wedding and hindu priests infront of the American inlaws who were so excited to attend their first Indian wedding.

We will always remember this bad experience throughout...

Experiencing the Hindu Temple of Minnesota in Maple Grove, particularly during Janmashtami, is truly a heartwarming experience that transcends a typical visit to a place of worship. It's a vibrant hub where faith, community, and cultural heritage beautifully intertwine. Watching families come together for celebrations like Janmashtami is particularly inspiring. The temple's commitment to creating a welcoming and inclusive environment is evident in the enthusiastic participation of all generations, from the youngest children dressed as Krishna and Radha, to the elders offering their wisdom and devotion. The atmosphere during Janmashtami was simply electric! The air buzzed with joyful energy as the community immersed itself in devotional music, colorful Raas Leela performances, and the exciting Dahi Handi (Matki Phod) tradition. It's clear that these celebrations are meticulously planned and executed, offering a beautiful blend of traditional rituals and engaging activities for everyone. The warmth and friendliness of the priests and volunteers create a sense of belonging for both regular attendees and newcomers, fostering a true feeling of community. The largest Temple of Minnesota ! Architectural marvel , based on farm land in Maple grove.built by the ambitious and hard working Indian People .It is constructed with the help from HSMN(Hindu Society of Minnesota) formed in early 1970's . HSMN was formed by Hindus ,Sikhs & Jain . Their efforts and hard labor helped them built this temple on a loan of around $9.6 million around 2004-2006. The deities have been specially imported from craftsmen in india. They have various temples of different gods each of them resembling a special temple in India. the best thing is that they also have the Jain god - Parsvanath,Mahavir alongside. So everyone can offer prayers . Calm and serene environment They have priest that will do the puja for you and can perform special ceremonies in need such as a marriage! You can also volunteer to help them such as tech,IT ,front desk depending on your skills. Great place, must visit !
