They say you get what you pay for and this was certainly true. We did the 80$ 2-hour ride, and we started late (we weren’t told to be early or anything, we arrived on time), I was told it would be a private ride (it was not, we had two others join us), and our guide was the opposite of friendly. As an experienced rider, I felt the ride was quite boring. We walked super slow and the scenery got boring. Our guide wasn’t quite rude, but she gave us no instruction and didn’t speak to us once, except to scold me for dismounting the house by myself (she didn’t tell us to wait for her or say anything). We don’t even know her name- she was a slender, tall, redhead. She didn’t stop once on the trail and ask if we wanted any pictures at all. She begrudgingly took a picture of us back at the stable after we asked her to. Very disappointed with our ride and experience, would only recommend if you have never ridden before and this is what fits in...
Read moreBreathtaking Sunset Ride! Tucson Mountain Stables offers an unforgettable experience. Our sunset horseback ride through the foothills was truly breathtaking. The views were spectacular, and our guide was wonderful, even taking the time to get some fantastic photos of us in front of the mountains at sunset. I had the pleasure of riding Penny and my partner rode Eagle, and you could tell these horses are so sweet, healthy, and well-cared-for. It's clear they love their jobs! Our small group of five also had some incredible wildlife sightings, including a jack rabbit, bulls, and even a rattlesnake. A few tips for your ride: Attire: Make sure you wear cowboy boots and jeans to protect your legs and ankles from the rocks and cactus. Hydration & Sun Protection: Bring plenty of water and wear sunblock, even for a sunset ride, as the Arizona sun is intense. We had such a fantastic time and highly recommend this for anyone...
Read moreI was traveling alone for work, I'm not an experienced hiker so hiking alone in a terrain and location I am unfamiliar with made me uneasy. I'm so glad I found this as an option! I was added to a larger group for a horseback ride tour, if I return to Tucson I will definitely do this again whether I am alone or traveling with people.
A 1.5 hour sunset ride for $70 is amazing value! I got some beautiful pictures, the staff was friendly and welcoming. We stopped partway through the tour and the guide took photos of everyone, since I was traveling alone I was really happy to get a photo of me on my horse, Cinnamon.
Absolutely recommend their services, they are family owned and they were so kind. If are are inexperienced, no problem! That's what these tours are made for, even if you have never approached a horse in your life you will be able to do this. Your legs and tailbone might be sore but it...
