Krause Springs was not what we were expecting. We discovered it essentially is two large pools. One man-made and one natural.

The man-made pool when we went (on a Thursday evening) was very crowded with kids as you would expect. No adult was getting in that pool. It is not very big and with a stone diving board at the end, 50% of the pool is a constant splash zone.

The natural pool was down some steps and crowded, but less crowded than the man-made pool. There was a rope swing which was very popular with the teenagers there.

Many people were sitting laying in the sun around the natural pool.

Some of the area can be very slippery. It is a natural water area and there is not much a business can do to prevent this.

The water in the natural pool was very chilly given it is from a natural spring. This was even on a very hot, 90 degree day. This was not a deal breaker and you do get used to the water.

Outside of these two pools, there are several picnic tables to eat at. There is a larger camping area to explore which we didn't do to much of. We saw one waterfall which was a cool photo-op (hence why it was surrounded by teenagers).

I was expecting more scenic/natural spring area to explore when in reality it is two pools. If you go knowing this is what Krause Springs is you will have a ton of fun. We didn't know this going in and paid $8/person for 60 min. We didn't have much food or drink and were not prepared for a day at the pool.

The staff was very nice at the front and the garden area around the entrance is very pretty.

Overall, go because you want to spend a fun day at the pool and prepare for that. Lastly, if you like photos with few people in them, I would recommend going first thing in the morning as for us it...

Wow, second time coming here, first time staying in the van. Shore power and all the RV hookups you could ask for. What a great family and staff. It’s affordable, kind and flexible. These are the happiest people in Texas. The garden is beautiful and the man that cares for it is a delight. He created a monster project and he slaves to show you the best of the gardens glory. Those aren’t angels singing. Those sounds come from wind chimes, but who’s to say they don’t hang around. My children and I were knighted with “Dragon approved stickers” at the delightfully cold pool at 12:30 am. What a refreshing change of pace while experiencing a privately owned commercial Texas spring park. Rules are simple. No curfew, no music after some very reasonable time, just don’t disturb your neighbor. If you loose track of time don’t worry Dragon will be there to kindly remind you. The showers are nice. Careful jumping the cliff if your over 160 pounds the water is shallow. You will touch the bottom. Don’t locks your knees. We played I spy a raccoon in the tree and in the waterfall. Also, the rope swing is a team sport! When people help catch, collect and pass the rope everyone is silently reminded that humanity can be beautiful. We experienced and witnessed no hate here, I’m not sure it’s possible. We also determined there are no monsters behind the waterfall. Amazing Cypress trees

This small plain piece of Texas makes you think to your self. Life is good. Go ahead...

Uh... Mostly natural site great for kids and those seeking a "protected" place to enjoy the great outdoors! There's a big old swimming hole made of giant slabs of Texas rock that have a couple of natural mini waterfalls and a big man-made swimming pool that looks almost natural.. Really old and giant trees - some trails to walk around on... There's 2 stone buildings that house men & woman lavatories. There are some barbecue areas, some tables and Benches to sit on and just enjoy the outdoors. They have a very unusual garden with variety of exotic type plants. The giant wind Chimes hanging in the trees are soothing. No pets allowed and no glass containers keep the area safe for young and old. Staff is helpful & polite ala' Texas hospitality. Labor day Monday was a bit on the almost crowded side but still open enough for some but not all to keep social distancing...some of us wore masks to make up for those who got too close. No COVID and less crowded should make anyone's visit much more pleasant and fun 😁

The road in and parking areas are dirt and gravel. .suggest you leave the Porsche or Tesla at home. At $8.00 per adult I consider a bit pricey... No discounts for military or others. ** Interesting but not heart throbbing...pleasant day for us and couple of friends, will likely go back one more time on weekday just to avoid the crowds and swing out over the swimming hole...let go of the rope and ... Oh you...

Beautiful and serene. Hidden gem. Come on a weekday and bring water shoes. Well-maintained and friendly staff.

Beautiful location! We took the drive out here on recommendations from multiple people on how beautiful and cold these springs were. Upon arriving we were told there was an upper spring fed pool and beneath that down some stairs were the natural springs. Prices were pretty steep for 2 adults and 3 small kids it cost almost $40. The pool was nice and cold with clear water but it was soooo crowded and not very big either. It was shoulder to shoulder. No lifeguard, so it felt a bit dangerous with the amount of people repeatedly plunging into such a crowded pool. We decided to move on to the “natural” springs. It’s a steep couple flights of stairs down to the springs. There’s a pretty waterfall photo opp to your right hand side at the bottom (be careful the rocks are very slippery). To the left you can enter the springs however it looks nothing like the pictures online. The water is murky and brown from dirt. It’s also not cold like the upper pool. I wish they had actual photos of what it looks like currently online because it was such a disappointment. If I’d known I wouldn’t have driven an hour. Either way kids had fun in the tiny pool but next time I’d save my money and time and go elsewhere.
