The trip to this magnificent structure is quite an adventure since you are driving to one of the highest mountains in the island of Puerto Rico. The area is also known as Monte del Estado o State Mountain. The road is in perfect conditions and the scenery is beautiful, you can see the southern side of the island and the Caribbean Sea. There are few joints where you can refresh yourself and have a drink. Once you reach the Torres de Piedra you will notice that it's a peaceful place, cool weather and plenty of birds around, not so much traffic. Once you go up the stairs you will have a magnificent view, from the Western shore to the southeast Coast is the island. Nice place... I enjoyed it.

I have always wanted to visit this place since I was a child, didn't get a chance till I was an adult. This place is AWESOME, the 360 views from the top of the tower are amazing, you can see several towns. The trip to get there alone is worth the drive. I highly recommend visiting this place AT LEAST ONCE in your life, it's beautiful, peaceful, you enjoy nature at it's best, the place is also free of charge, but even if they were to charge me, IT'S WORTH IT!

Randomly drove by this and decided to stop by. There were several people there. The families were taking photos and checking it out. Within the tower, there was a lot of water on the floor. If I had sandals, I wouldn't have gone in. The steps going up are narrow and a bit uncomfortable to go up. But once you're up there the view is wonderful. I think it was built in the 1940s, but unfortunately, I don't know anything else about the history of the place.

Such a cool find on a mountain road! This was a FDR post-depression project; the sign explaining the site is very informative. Not wheelchair accessible and slippery when wet! One can ascend the three-ish flights of steps to the top of the tower, which provides a neat 360° view.

Nice place to take the family and admire the panoramic route Maricao has to offer, the stairs are steep so be careful! Especially if you have kids. You can see the ocean and look at Puerto Rico’s beautiful mountains. Careful driving the roads back.
