SUPER HONEST REVIEW HERE lol: I had to write this review because I feel like other reviews didn’t really give a full picture of what this hike looks like before you get to the waterfall.

NOTES: Hiking shoes or sneakers for the first half of the walk in Change into Water shoes when you reach the big puddle to start the rocky climb to the waterfall Lots of small and large rocks to climb Shallow and Deep water to go through before getting to the waterfall Walking stick helps on slippery rocks Don’t go on rainy days

When the directions say you have reached your location. You will stop at a two-way street cross road where you can either go left up the hill or right. Go straight to the right side.

Drive pass the houses on your right then you will see a yellow sign that says "Termina Carretera" and a gate on your left. Park behind the sign and the journey begins.

20 min hike if you are fit: You will walk down the hill, up the hill, over flowing water (its from the waterfall), up a hill again, and eventually get to a house with a ton of ducks, turkeys, and chickens. There will be a big puddle of water in front of the house. Follow the puddle to the right. (DO NOT go through the house property, they have dogs that will cash you) Walk alongside the left side of water where it’s dry (cause the water is super deep there) and 2 minutes later you have to cross over the water (in the shallow end) to follow the trail to your right.

20 min hike: Again, you will go up a hill and find the main river that leads you to the waterfall. There will be more random house on the left. You definitely want your water shoes at this point cause youll be stepping in water covering your shoes, on rocks, and climbing over boulders until you reach the waterfall on your right after you turn the corner.

I went with people in all age range. It took the 65 yr old guys about 35 mins to get through climbing the rocks (they used a walking stick) and the 24 yr old guys 15 minutes lol depends on your fitness of how long it takes.

Walking stick helped alot!

The waterfall is gorgeous and worth every sweaty breath. The water is freezing, but you’ll be so tired from the hike that it will feel amazing. Plus, it’s fresh 💧AF!

Also you can jump from a ledge on the left side of the water and the water is super deep.

I hope you liked my honest review...

It's worth the effort, but there are some things to be very aware of.

First is the drive there. DO NOT trust WAZE if you just put in Salto Curet. It was trying to take us to some funky location and down some very sketchy roads that we would have never found the falls. Put in the Salto Curet Cabin for a location. Depending on the direction you are coming from, the roads are narrow and VERY winding. We were coming from the south after visiting a lighthouse, and it was a very long, winding, and stressful drive. WAZE kept wanting us to take roads that were not built for a car had to keep stoping and looking at map to ensure we wer saying on decent roads. Trust your instincts and dont go down a road that looks sketchy. If you have a 4x4, it all would have been easier, but it's still very nerve-racking. If you don't like driving on very narrow winding roads that go up and down through the mountains, don't attempt this drive.

Second: If you do decide to go and don't have a 4x4, then you will have to park at the end of the road were there is a gated house to the left and a very steep drop down to the river. If you have a 4x4 (we did not) and trust your skills, then you can drive right up to the cabin. If not, then park the vehicle, and you will have to hike on the road to the cabin, crossing the river twice. Once you get to the cabin, then go a little past it and turn left up the river (there is a sign). Yes, you do have to hike in the river. It was not terribly difficult, but it was a little challenging at points. Water shoes and ensuring you have good footing is a must. A backpack or something to secure your stuff from getting wet would have been good on the hike to and back. I only had my swim trunk pockets to secure my phone and car keys, and a couple of the spots on the river get waist deep. About 15-20 minutes later, you reach the most secluded and beautiful waterfall that you can swim right up to. The water is a bit cold but refreshing after a hike in the sun.

Lastly was the drive back that took about 2 hrs to San Juan. Again, there were very winding and narrow roads, but a good portion of this drive was bigger roads. Like I said, it was well worth the effort as there were only 5 other people there besides us on a weekend. It will be some fantastic...

Outstanding place of natural beauty. This hidden waterfall has a nice swimming hole at the base of it, and is secluded enough that very few people visit. During our time, we were the only ones there. To get there, take one of the bigger roads. We took 362 and although google maps sent us that way, the road doesn't connect to 120. I corrected this on Google maps, so hopefully others won't get stuck there. Once you drive there, you will hit a dirt road for the last 3/4 mile. The big ridge at the beginning of the dirt road won't let normal cars pass (unless you have a jeep), so just park there and walk the rest. There is a gate to some private property next to the road.

Once you walk to the end of the dirt road, turn left at the river and walk up river for about 1/2 mile to get to the waterfall. Wear...
