This is such a hidden gem in Marion! The trail is GORGEOUS in any season, lots of benches for breaks, and tons of huge trees! That's also why it's only 4 stars. Depending on what you're riding, it can be a little rough lol.. This trail will surprise you with wonky tree roots in the asphalt every now and then and will absolutely ramp you Evel Knievel style if you aren't careful. It looks like they're still working on dissolving the roots and letting the trail settle, so hopefully it gets better! The trail goes on FOREVER through so many little towns, old growth woods, and farmland and eventually pops out at a little park with a shelter. -the beginning of the trail is on holland road in Marion. There are additional trail access points on down the trail that have an area for parking as well.
-No motorized vehicles permitted on the trail.
-there is a loop off of the trail that is unpaved/gravel on Herr Rd in Big Island township. It circles around a pond and back to the paved trail. (Sometimes a section of this loop is closed due to hobby aircraft use on the other side of the pond.)
