Nature's Gem with Breathtaking Views!

Falls of Hills Creek is a hidden gem for nature lovers seeking an exciting and awe-inspiring experience. The trail to the three falls – upper, middle, and lower – offers some of the most amazing views that will leave you in awe. The well-constructed paths and boardwalks make the hike enjoyable and accessible, allowing you to immerse yourself in the beauty of the surroundings.

About the Place: The falls are truly a sight to behold, and the 1-hour trail to and back is perfect for a refreshing outdoor adventure. The three distinct waterfalls each have their own charm, and witnessing them is a rewarding experience. The well-maintained paths and boardwalks enhance the journey, providing a safe and comfortable trek through the wilderness. Moreover, the ample parking space ensures you won't have to worry about finding a spot to park your vehicle.

About the Location: Located amidst picturesque landscapes, Falls of Hills Creek is a nature lover's paradise. The serene ambiance and tranquility make it an ideal escape from the hustle and bustle of daily life. Whether you're a seasoned hiker or a beginner, the trail is suitable for all skill levels, making it a great destination for a memorable day in nature.

The only slight downside to be mindful of is that during rainy weather, the wooden planks can become a bit slippery, requiring some caution while navigating the trail. Nonetheless, Falls of Hills Creek is a must-visit destination, offering a remarkable hike and a chance to connect with the beauty of the natural...

There are three falls on the trail. They appear from smallest to largest. The first is very easy to get to and a short hike or walk is more accurate. The only down side to that you can really only see it from the top and it’s usually pretty blocked by trees and overgrown.

The second is a slightly more challenging of a hike with a good bit of stairs. The trail is beautiful and shaded so not bad when it’s a hotter day. Very beautiful falls and multiple angles to view it.

The final fall is worth the extra effort. A lot of stairs and can be very slick in spots so wear the right shoes. If you have bad knees might not be worth it as the trip back is mostly inclined and those stairs can be brutal.

Overall I recommend this adventure for anyone even with small kids if they can handle stairs and walk. I don’t remember the exact length but takes at least an hour and a half if your stopping and enjoying the views. Would recommend bringing water but you can leave snacks in the car unless your planning on having a meal with a view. No tables to eat at but plenty of places to sit and...

Very quick hike. 3/4 mile hike out and then another 3/4 mile hike back. Paved path and wooden boardwalk between all 3 of the falls. Seems like you have to walk a million stairs to get to the bottom falls. Not recommended for toddlers unless you can put them in a hiking pack. Also would not recommend this for the elderly who already have balance issues, or those with bad backs and knees. Would recommend packing in fishing pole (would need a license for w.v trout) and fishing the bottom falls.) Very close to the Cranberry Botanical area (6 miles?) Which is also on a boardwalk. Beautiful stretch of Monongahela Forest. Peak hiking would probably be between May and June, if youre into wildflowers...

One of my favorite waterfalls in WV. ā¤ļø Did you know West Virginia has an official waterfall trail!? It’s pretty cool! You can download a virtual passport and log your waterfall visits by scanning the QR code located at each official stop on the trail. The trail includes waterfalls all throughout West Virginia, and more are constantly being added! The more you visit, the more swag you can win. This is one of three waterfalls that make up the Falls of Hills Creek in Hillsboro, WV (Upper, Middle, and Lower). I couldn’t resist this short hike while I was in the area. It’s within the Cranberry Glades Botanical Area, so you could easily make an incredible fall adventure of it. šŸ“Falls of Hills Creek Hillsboro, WV *There are roughly 400 stairs on this trail that can be tricky when wet. ā—ļøHelp prevent damage to this beautiful & fragile place by staying on the established trails and taking any/all trash out with you!
