Good evening Google Family. I visited for the MS Walk today, Saturday, May 17th, 2025. This is such a big place, so easy to get lost here. When you are driving, you are like driving forever. No end in sight. My first time here. The playground, had swings and a slide for the youngstsers. The rest rooms were great, so clean and neat. Hard to believe that they were park restrooms. This is a dog friendly park. There were plenty of dogs around. They would nip my leg and I would be wondering, what is that on my leg? And it was a dog. How cute!!!! The picnic area is huge. So much room there. And the parking goes on forever. Parking is abundant and there is overflow parking for latecomers. I totally enjoyed myself today. I met so many nice people. I was posing for pics, making videos, networking and fellowshipping. When I arrived early, around 8:30 am, I parked in the area right near the event. It pays to get places like this early so you can secure a good parking spot. It was drizzling when we arrived. I was so glad that I wore a wrap around me. You needed something warm on in the morning. Then it warmed up around 11 am and I needed to take off my wrap. We had started walking and I came out of my wrap. I caught up with a young lady named Brittany who kept me company on the entire walk. We networked and we had a blast of a time. The event started off with a program of sorts which lasted about 30 minutes and then we were off to walk. The weather ended up being around 80 degrees, but it was a cool 80 degrees. The weather was perfect for a walk. It was not hot or cold or humid. Great walking weather we had, today, thank you Father God!!!! They had snacks, like bananas, trail bars, potato chips like cheetos, sour cream and onion, and barbecue. Some people were eating in the picnic area and some people brought their own food. There was a DJ , David, playing wonderful songs and of course I had to get my groove on. I love to dance and I will dance anywhere I hear good music. I enjoyed myself and I will be back next year!!! Good night Google family, workout, be healthy, Fit...
Read moreI was not prepared for the lack of parking for such a well known park. There is no main lot, there are side areas you can pull off on that aren’t paved My recommendation is plan an early morning visit! The main walkway is paved and runs along the creek. We did not walk the main path for long, we found a treacherous deer path the takes you closer to the creek and one wrong step you could slip down the bank into the creek. It was muddy and my Golden Retriever kept stopping and wanting to leap into the water. We eventually came out to the main walkway again. We then opted to take a path that inclined up away from the creek. There we found some actual trails and our fun began! The trails are perfect for a good hike. The trail we took continued to incline for quite some time. The trail is wooded and the views are magnificent. We crossed a small stream that had a little water fall due to recent heavy rainfall. We were the only people on this trail so it was nice and secluded. I thoroughly enjoyed the tranquility and the work out from going mostly uphill. I’m not sure where the trail ends as we did eventually turn around and headed back the same way we came. If you plan to hike on any of these trails make sure you are wearing hiking shoes. I wanted to get some more pictures of the creek so we meandered our way up the paved walk and came to some lovely areas you can walk down to the water. We also came upon a little dock that goes out over the creek. The majority of visitors, at least while we were there, we’re out for exercise, a walk with their dog or out with their families . If you have small children as you can push a stroller all the way along the main walking path. There are no bathrooms just a couple of portapotties. As we were leaving there were large groups of people arriving, I have no idea where they were parking! We very much enjoyed our morning, I recommend adding this park to your...
Read moreI Have been coming here since I was a child. I've always loved the mansion and the fish pond. We would have picnics up on the hill across from the mansion and roll down it as soon as we were done eating. We would go to the picnic areas and have barbecues. Bring your own tin foil, charcoal and lighter fluid for the grill. My dad would cook and me and my brother and sister would play while my mom unpacked everything. We used to take walks through the woods and we would find these really old bottles and sometimes the remainder of a car - you never knew what you would find and that was the best part. Kids can take rides on the horses at the stable. It's between $3 and $5. It's been a while since we've done that so I recommend double-checking. There are tons of trails, picnic areas... Restrooms that are clean. You can bring your bike, your dog (as long as they're on a leash) and just have a great relaxing day. You do see birthday parties and such and it may seem like a huge crowd of people but it's surprisingly quiet. These are just my memories but now my son gets to enjoy them too. We have quite the collection of leaves, rocks and cool looking sticks! Even in the rain it's enjoyable and quiet and calm and relaxing. We just put on ponchos and hoodies and went over to the fish pond. We didn't see any fish in there and I'm not sure how long it's been since they've been in there but we did make some wishes by throwing coins in. Would definitely recommend to families or anybody just trying to clear their...
