We made it over to the Kansas Motorcycle Museum after camping with the Boy Scouts at Kannapolis Lake. Talk about a cool experience. This museum has a lot of rare and very noteworthy motorcycles. Not only are there some flat track bikes, but there are also board trackers, off road bikes, road bikes, and even a few drag bikes. Make sure to stop by and check it out. While you're there, stop in to City Sundries just down the block. The food is pretty good, and the building is really cool if you're into old stuff. My wife and I drove up from Hutch to Marquette (cool little off-the-beaten-path Midwest town!) in our Corvette this morning to celebrate the last day of summer, and to visit the Kansas Motorcycle Museum (and the Smoky Valley Distillery across the street). Their museum is world-class, in my opinion, and is well worth the visit if you're anywhere within striking distance - you won't be...

I'm not sure why a person would want to forgo stopping into this place. I've been here twice now on drive-thrus and find something new every time I come in. It's a motorcycle and scooter Museum and funny enough I find myself going to look at the scooters as much as anything because they're so unique. Plan about an hour to an hour and a half if you're passing through and the townspeople were so friendly and even invited us to the Methodist Church to a barbecue they were having that night. The only reason we could not stop in is that we had lost a day on our trip or we would have stopped in and hung out with those guys. Great little town go there...
