Educational, fun, friendly, inspiring and a must do when visiting the area! Captain Cody was awesome. Booking this tour was easy via phone, check in was easy and very friendly. Ample parking on site with portable potty units in the parking area. Very kind gentleman at the check in counter said they were clean, and he sure was right ! Cute gift shop with good prices. If you forget your rain poncho, as we did, in case of pop up rains which we had, they sell in that gift shop. To my surprise, they said take them, if you don't use them bring them back and no charge. They also offer plenty of free carry coolers packed with ice for your cold drinks to bring on board. Very cool waiting area in back of the check in house with picnic tables under the trees and Spanish moss. The tour was just awesome to say the least. Captain Cody was friendly, funny and taught us so much on the nature of the alligators, the area, history, conservation, birds, cypress trees etc just about everything. I only got a few lackluster photos and decided to put my phone away and just listen and enjoy the surroundings. You really get a sense of how much this crew of folks really love and respect these animals and the habitat and area in which they live and work and how hard they work to preserve it as well as grow the alligator population. If you are visiting the New Orleans area, I highly recommend making time to take a tour with...
Read moreI’ve taken swamp tours with four different companies in and and around New Orleans and New Orleans Airboat tour was the best! Airboats are faster and smaller so you see so much more than the larger tour boats. We booked a “small boat tour” and 8 of us had the boat and captain to ourselves. Captain Matt is part of what sets this company apart. He is authentic, born and raised locally, and very knowledgeable about the area, the wildlife, flora, and the eco system. He can “read the group” and customized our tour to our interests. He added a lot of humor and was super fun without trying too hard. It was a cool April 10am trip but the gators were very active and we saw dozens. We all got an opportunity hold a little baby alligator who was super sweet. We used their optional transportation which was a 12 passenger van and had only one other pickup, and the drive to Bayou Barataria is only 30-40 minutes from French Quarter. Communication was great and driver was right on time. While making my reservation on the phone with Russell he was super patient and helpful. He also mentioned their impeccable safety rating, and quality/maintenance of their boats. Everyone in our group said the Airboat Tour was the highlight of their...
Read moreI recently took an airboat tour in New Orleans, and it was an unforgettable experience! Gliding through the swamps at high speed was thrilling, but the real highlight was the up-close encounters with the alligators. Our guide was incredibly knowledgeable, sharing fascinating details about the local ecosystem and the behavior of these amazing reptiles.
The airboat itself was well-maintained, and the captain handled it with expert precision, allowing us to safely navigate the narrow waterways. Despite the noise of the engine, it felt incredibly immersive to be out in the wild. The alligators came right up to the boat, and we even got to see some massive ones basking in the sun. The scenery was stunning, with moss-draped cypress trees and a variety of wildlife, including birds and turtles.
What stood out most was the respect the guide had for the animals and their habitat. He ensured that our interactions were non-intrusive, which made the experience feel more authentic. Whether you're a thrill-seeker or a nature lover, this airboat tour offers a perfect blend of excitement and education. I highly recommend it for anyone visiting...
