Feel like the business could have done better. We had this scheduled for 10AM MLK Day 1/20/25. As we were visiting from out of town, and it snowed the night before and was 9 degrees outside the morning of we called when they opened at 9am to verify if they were going to be open. They confirmed with excitement they are open for business. When we arrived at 9:50, we were excited to see all the fresh snow and had few people there so we almost had it to ourselves. However, we were notified as we checked in that they needed to do snow removal on the lanes because it had built up too much. We waited 30-40 minutes for them to warm up the machine to then comb over the lanes to make them ready to ride. While they offered to let us stay a full hour, we had other appointments we needed to get to so we only had about 30 minutes in the hill. The fact that a business does not get ready early knowing the machines are going to take a while to warm up and that customers have time slots is sloppy business and frustrating. They thought of themselves first over the customer, which is wrong.
As far as the hill, by the time they got up and running you essentially had 2-3 hours worth of people on it all at once. There was no employees from the company at the top or bottom of the hill directing anything - compete free for all. A kid took my legs out from me as I was walking back, and I could have hurt myself really bad.
The sledding was actually pretty decent for what it is. But the bad business practices and lack of safety/ care from the employees far exceed any positives.
EDIT After Owner Response: The response provided by the business is shocking, but inline with expectations based on my in-person experience. They took no responsibility for not alerting us ahead of time there was going to be a delayed start, when we specifically made a call to verify everything was good before driving 40 minutes to get there. (Also they could have just shown up to work 30 minutes earlier, knowing the ever-changing dynamic of their business, to warm up a machine to keep everything on schedule.) And then they blamed me for almost getting injured. (Though I should have been more clear above) I was sitting in my tube 15' past the end of the run, saw a kid coming straight at me, stood up and attempted to step out of the way as he smacked right into me. (Maybe you should get the facts before accosting your customers). Lastly, I appreciate the "ban" from your establishment, but I can promise you - I had no intention of...
Read moreVisited on Saturday morning, bright and early at 9 a.m.🕘 when it opens. Our group was eight people, ages 7 up to adult. We all had a great time. There were 8 lanes for tubing! 🏁❄️.❄️.❄️.❄️.❄️.❄️.❄️.❄️ 🏁 By about 9:30🕤, I estimate the place was at maximum capacity, yet I never had to wait and I always had my choice of lane. The owner announced to us they just got a new machine (see photo) that can really do some amazing work in snow. (I guess just yesterday there were only 3 wide lanes.) Even when the 10 o'clock 🕙crowd started showing up, we never had to wait!
The weather had been rainy this week🌧, so there was a lot of mud near the base. However, the owner had an employee spreading straw over the area and some small pea gravel. We didn't really get very muddy at all.
⚠️Three things to be aware of: First, the entrance platform to the conveyor belt is slick. For now, you just need to be mindful of yourself. Second, the exit area of the conveyor belt was chunky and difficult. I imagine later in the day it may be easier, just watch yourself and others trying to dismount. Third, with eight lanes you really need to mindful of who else might be barreling toward you. This is something I watch for, but I did see a few people get knocked down. I would like to see improvements in safety to these three things the next time I'm there (I'm sure we'llbe back).
There is a concession stand☕️🧋🥨, but we didn't try it out. It looked good and prices seemed reasonable. Parking lot is all gravel, you won't get stuck or muddy tires. Location is very convenient off of I-26 🛣. There is a huge firepit ♨️ at which you can roast marshmallows.
Overall, this place is a lot of fun and you can tell that the owners are actively improving the park🔝. The bathrooms🚻🚾 were heated🔥 and my daughter was able to easily change clothes in there when it was time to leave. For me, the price was a bit higher than I hoped, since we had tried to get a group of 15 together but were unsuccessful. That's no fault of Zip N Slip, but maybe offer a...
Read moreOver all I wouldn’t return due to the chaotic way the slope were ran which seemed to encourage injuries instead of discouraging them.
We drove 90 minutes while on vacation to go tubing as the closer places were booked far In advance.
Upon arrival for 0900 slots we stopped into the restrooms before checking in. Very disappointed that we were part of the first group and the restrooms were not clean.
When we checked in, we had to complete waiver's as we didn’t have a printer to complete in advance. This was a quick process, stepped out of line, completed, joined the line again and turned in for our pink tags. This was a pretty fast procedure.
Next we joined others in attempts to secure a tube which was not organized but rather a free for all when the tubes were pulled out of storage.
We joined the line to get up the slope on a conveyor belt. I completely understand we are outside and conditions are not going to be perfect, however there were some challenges with major uneven ice mounds while entering and exiting the ramp. Add this to was not organization at the top of the hill to move patrons along all slopes. Most seemed to exit the conveyor only to move to the first 3 lanes. This caused a frustration as a bottleneck was created more than once just getting up the slope.
Once up the slope and dragging our tubes to the last lanes (which had no lines) and enjoyed our rides! The slopes were bumpy and iced. This provided assistance moving down the slopes, but not when exiting the slopes as everyone had to attempt to walk to the end of the slope where there was little straw covering dirt, mud, and standing water.
Remember how everyone would only go to the first few lanes? Well now they were mowing people down who were attempting to get back on the conveyor belt. The first lanes were sliding beyond the slopes end into the mud hitting people in the walking area. One poor kid who wasn’t able to get out of the way fast enough ended up injured...
