Knob Hill playground is the lone 5 star playground in a vast sea of rusting, basic 3 stars scattered at every school and park. Either it was just recently built or the community (or whoever made the decisions) really researched and implemented an incredible little area for kids to play. Two weeks ago, I took my 5 year old son to play at the playgrounds at the new mega elementary school that was recently built (for millions) in the suburbs where I grew up, and parts of it were broken and boarded up or had caution tape around it. Every single metal piece was rusted and borderline unusable. Then there's the playground at Knob Hill, where everything looks brand new and all of the metal pieces/parts were so whisper quiet that I wondered if perhaps a new type of material had been designed and created solely for use at this playground. đ
Final thoughts: Remember Dorothy opening the door to Oz?? This park is kinda like that, so not only do I highly recommend bestowing your child the incredible opportunity to play at this playground, but also that whomever built this place be the first person you contact if you're in a position to implement a new...

Our grandchild enjoys the rather large kids playground, and I enjoy an hour long walk with my dog almost daily either on the gravel walking trail, or into the woods on one of its many paths.
A lot of people play frisbee golf in any weather (!) on a course blended through the woods and walking trails. (I hear the safest place to stand is near those green baskets :)
There is ample parking, a handful of open shelters with picnic tables, a barn for indoor venues, and a few fairly busy (seasonaly) ball fields frequented by several kids baseball teams. And there is one very, very good sled riding hill ...when the Western PA weather "cooperates".
I recommend waterproof shoes on the frisbee golf course or off the gravel walking trail. The Soggy Sneakers Creek is appropriately named and it runs through every gully and low spot in the park.
Kudos to Marshal Township for excellent maintenance and regular upgrades to this...
Read moreThe children's park is fantastic. Lots of fun climbing and a few musical stations. Smaller thn the old wooden one but it is what it is... A great place for children to play.
The disc course is slowly losing the privacy and forest between holes. It is becoming engineered and not natural feeling. It really seems like they want open fields and less nature. Think they want it to be more like moraine and less of what it was. Hole 4 was expanded up the hill further and isn't much fun. The amount of players i see skip it are more than the people that don't play the 16-18 holes and really breaks the flow of the course. There are some tees that have signs on them that puts them in the middle of the driving lanes and are an eyesore. (Not that the houses...
