A cool "nonstandard" playground for the kids, with tons of potential. There's even a half dozen apple trees with fruit free for the picking. Picnic pavilion is clean with sturdy tables. Clean bathrooms by the first baseball diamond, with plenty of tp but empty soap dispensers.
Unfortunately, the playground area seems like it has not had the upkeep to match the original enthusiasm. Lots of weed barrier fabric is coming up, amid lots of weeds with too little mulch. Sections of playground look like they might have had signage or interactive displays at one time, but are now bare. Little to no maintenance is done on fruit trees (such as pruning to thin branches, or thinning the apples to encourage healthy fruit instead of crushed looking, tiny apples) which means it's not appealing enough for visitors to want to pick and eat many, so the fruit covers the ground and invites pests. The froggy trash can was overflowing and allowing litter to blow away when we visited, while nearby "boring" trash cans had plenty of room. The picnic area has an electrical meter hooked up showing zeros, with no outlets - like it was planned but never completed.
Overall, it's still worth visiting and we will likely return when in the area. I'll be delighted if upkeep improves so that it's at least as pleasant in...
Read moreIts awesome that they made the park out of fallen trees and branches. Not a lot of parks left this well kept that are made in a more "old school" way like this one is. The kids absolutely loved the catwalk with the netting on each side. I had to check it out myself even. Just wish it was easier to find because we just discovered the park and we've lived in town for going on...

The paved trail in the back leads you to the library 3 or 4...
