Green Castle Recreation Area — Attraction in Marshalltown

Really enjoyed coming here. Decided it was too nice of a day to waste inside. So glad we didn't. Lots of hidden places to explore. So pretty and peaceful. Liked seeing the bison and geese. Did a bit of hiking .. so quiet you can't hear anything but the forest. Definitely coming back. Looked a good spot to go fishing at. And lay a blanket out...

This park is a mess! Big money spent to drain the lake and rebuild some shoreline. And now it is so full of weeds that it is almost impossible to fish it or even kayak in it.
