Review WOW! I cannot say enough to describe how wonderful our experience was at this venue! It felt like we were in a movie where the actress gets the wedding of her dreams! The Grand Magnolia House is Grand indeed, and so is its owner, Ian. Although the atmosphere during the wedding was magical, behind the scenes preparation was full of mishaps, unrelated to the venue! Nevertheless, Ian put on his Superman cape and came to the rescue for every catastrophe! As you will observe in the pictures, the flowers were beautiful! That is compliments to Ian. Although he was not the florist, with the exception of the flower arrangement on the arbor, which was stunning, he was responsible for the final presentation! The flower arrangements and bouquets were delivered and were horrifying. They were completely unpresentable! Ian recreated the bridal bouquet, changed the ribbon on the bridesmaid’s bouquets, and modified the 21 table centerpiece arrangements, adding more flowers and greenery. (I am attaching pictures of the original bridal bouquet for reference). He and his team took care of one thing after another resulting in a wedding worthy of fairytales! The Grand Magnolia House is decorated with classic southern charm, creating an ambience of comfort and peacefulness. The wedding party had access to the entire house. Family and loved ones used the kitchen to prepare meals and snacks. The upstairs, bedrooms, bathrooms and large common space was allocated to the bridal party. Downstairs bedrooms, bathrooms and a magnificent screened porch were allocated to the groomsmen. The layout for the wedding was perfect. It was very spacious and provided a natural flow that minimized chaos and nurtured peace. An upper level deck with two small gazebos was perfect for a small bar, a four man band and the cake cutting ceremony. Thank you Ian and staff at the Grand Magnolia House for...
Read moreAlthough we live in Florida, my daughter had a dream to get married on her grandparent's farm in Fort Valley, Georgia. We chose The Grand Magnolia House for our event due to the all-inclusiveness they offered, including everything from flowers to cake, catering and the DJ. Also including lodging and even the rehearsal dinner location, and all the coordination that comes from a top notched wedding coordinator. The plan was to have the ceremony on the farm and reception on the grounds of The Grand Magnolia. A few days before the wedding we added a tent due to the possibility of rain after the ceremony. A few hours before the wedding it started pouring rain and the lightening was crazy. We chose to delay the wedding 30 min, but the rain did not stop. We changed the plans again and again until we reached the end of our options and did not know what to do. Ian stepped into the bridal suite with all the emotions of a member of the family and tears in his eyes and announced that we would have the wedding in the front parlors, surrounded by family and friends. They began removing furniture to make room for the wedding party and guests.
It was like we took a step back in time. In that beautiful historic home was just a bride and groom surrounded by those that they loved, watching them start this journey of life together.
There were multiple other last-minute changes that came as a result of the weather and venue change. The Grand Magnolia staff never panicked and were all truly kind, accommodating and flexible throughout the entire process.
I can never thank Ian, Kevin and Trycie enough for all the work that went into this event. Every bride needs wedding coordinators that care so much that they feel the pain too when a southern storm changes the bride's dream.
I would HIGHLY recommend The Grand Magnolia House for your weddings or special events.
