As a frequent visitor of Climber’s Run, I’d say it’s pretty top notch. It’s a great spot for kids, as the creek access is fantastic, and fairly close to the parking area. The immediate area features a meadow, mowed area for a picnic, a pond, shaded creek, as well as the visitor center for The Lancaster Conservancy.

The preserve features trails along Climber’s Run, as well as trails along the hillsides flanking the creek. Climber’s Run itself is the main feature, with its stunning glacial cliffs and exposed boulders through which the creek traverses. Not a large preserve, but an easy...

I enjoy the trails at Climbers Run. There is a bit of variety - trails along the stream and a trail to an abandoned camp. I like to jog up the cardio trail and then walk back down a few times for a challenge. The abandoned camp has a nice apocalyptic feel. I haven't done all the trails completely, but what I have done so far has been nice. This place has decent parking and a port-o-pottie for visitors. The driveway in and out is one lane, so watch your speed and watch for...

Climbers Run is a 115 acre preserve owned by the Lancaster County Conservancy. Like other preserves, it is open to the general public for hiking. It has well maintained trails winding through the property. However it also has an education building. The house is privately occupied. The pond is available for catch and release fishing.I found the trails easy to walk. Climbing more than 250 feet in less than 1/2 mile, Cardio trail provides an...

Spectacular trails and sites. Short hike on one side (maybe 20 min at a decent stride) due to someone posting private property signs. Still worth the stop however. The Lancaster Conservancy does a great job maintaining this trail. For those simply looking for a little relaxation in nature, the Conservancy provided picnic tables by a pond and stream, along with a portapotty. Remember, always take out what you bring in... and be kind to the trails, all. :)

Climbers Run is an easy, convenient location for people in Lancaster to completely feel isolated and secluded from the hustle and bustle of the daily grind. Within a quarter mile of the parking lot, you can hike into a great wooded area, with a scenic stream that’s teeming with bird-life…, enhanced with the calming sounds of the stream. We love to bring a sack lunch, sit stream-side for a couple of hours, and just chill.
