I don't know why but, the part of the bottom trail near the creek area was heavily overgrown. Almost impassable. The Tecumseh portion was overgrown in a lot of spots too. So bad, we turned around because we could not get through. I hope we just went at the wrong time. The rest of the bottom trail was nice, pleasant and not very difficult. The yellowwood trail was fun and pleasant. It was nice to see the eastern hemlock trees. The has some incline to it which I really enjoyed. The yellowwood trail was very well taken care of. Overall, I really enjoyed my visit here and I encourage everyone to go and hope the whole trail...
Read moreReally quiet and peaceful. Trail pretty flat. Definitely holds water covering actual trail in some spots, probably can be flooded out in extreme rain. Marked well for the most part, had to follow some orange flags in the ground for a short piece. The water can pool up and the trail can be a bit tricky to pick up again, definitely had to use the signs ahead on trees to pick it up again. Nice little river about halfway around loop. Didn't find any metal bridge...one in pictures.. probably just missed it. Trail map shows a little spur off the loop, don't think I went to that part could be there. No other...
Read moreBeautiful and fairly easy and the drive to the preserve is almost as good as the preserve is. The lower tail is very wet, so plan on picking your path, or getting wet feet. The upper hike was through some very nice woodland and some really nice neighbors who have allowed the trail across their property. Didn't see the bluffs from the lower trail, and could barely see them from upper, but still a very nice hike. Took about three hours with plenty of time to stop and...
