Enthusiasm in local history preservation fills the air vividly when I visited the area surrounding the site. Knowledgeable staff and volunteers kindly guided me to the furnace and preservation going-ons . Looking forward to visit again. Wishing the best for the park progress through the museum...

Very historic iron furnace that furnished shells for the Battle of Yorktown. There is a picnic table there so you can sit and enjoy a quiet, private lunch. It is also designated with an Underground Railroad marker, but there was no other information available. Was a neat...

It was really cool to see the Catoctin Furnace kinda come to life at the Maryland Iron Festival. There is plenty of trails nearby and beautiful history to see. Definitely worth a visit just to take a step...
