The exhibits and short films presented well Harriet Tubman's amazing courage, deep commitment, emotional intelligence, remarkable savvy, and great achievements as an Underground Railroad conductor, abolitionist and women's equality leader, Union soldier and spy, and ultimately a social service organizer for elderly self-emancipators. The Visitors Center gift shop offers educational materials for readers of many ages, and just started offering walking tours in nearby Cambridge, MD that start at the community-operated Harriet Tubman Museum there, which also offers weekend walking tours, fees from which support the Museum.    Read moreWe made a quick stop over at the Harriet Tubman Underground RR Museum on our way home from Ocean City. It was a lovely learning experience (and kid-friendly). We had a 10 year old and two 7 year olds with us, and they all enjoyed the film and exhibits and came out with lots of questions.
There were two tour guides available the day we went, and they were both so eager to step in and help make our visit a memorable one. I wish I had gotten their names so I could give them a shout-out.
Overall, we're glad we stopped over. It's always great to learn the history of all the people who helped make this great country...
