Profoundly moving! The exhibits and short films presented well Harriet Tubman's amazing courage, deep commitment, emotional intelligence, remarkable savvy, and great achievements as an Underground Railroad conductor, abolitionist and women's equality leader, Union soldier and spy, and ultimately a social service organizer for elderly self-emancipators. The Visitors Center gift shop offers educational materials for readers of many ages, and just started offering walking tours in nearby Cambridge, MD that start at the community-operated Harriet Tubman Museum there, which also offers weekend walking tours, fees from which support the Museum. So please visit and support that...

We made a quick stop over at the Harriet Tubman Underground RR Museum on our way home from Ocean City. It was a lovely learning experience (and kid-friendly). We had a 10 year old and two 7 year olds with us, and they all enjoyed the film and exhibits and came out with lots of questions.

There were two tour guides available the day we went, and they were both so eager to step in and help make our visit a memorable one. I wish I had gotten their names so I could give them a shout-out.

In addition to closely following the courageous history of one slave who risked everything throughout her adult life to bring freedom to many of those destined for lifelong human physical and psychological bondage, it is a riveting, powerful history lesson for anyone who really wants to know about the brutal, inhumane conditions that slaves were required to suffer during a very dark time in American history. Friendly staff. Plenty of free parking. A pleasant drive in the Maryland Eastern Shore countryside...

Very well designed building and historical pathway within the museum. The presentations of videos, art and brass sculptures, informative storyboards, and photos were well developed and thoughtful. The staff members were informative and cheerful. I enjoyed the sense of humor that accompanied our short conversations. Excellent Memorial Park honoring Harriet ( Minty ) Tubman.

Took a family trip here with my wife and two of our daughters. It gives you a real perspective of what life was like back then and an understanding of the unspoken part of our history. Imagine walking 100 miles to Philadelphia from the Eastern Shore. I’m sure she encountered it all and to keep coming back so that other slaves can be free makes her a real American hero.
