Hands on Fun! This Nature Center feels more like a museum. The rooms and exhibits make you feel a part of the history of Montgomery County, Maryland. The kids can interact with the displays including the two cave areas. The animals on display are remarkable inside turtles, snakes, frogs and more in the colorful reading and discovery room. The Raptor area outside with beautiful birds of prey. There are hiking trails down to the water, an outside classroom, and recycling/compost learning area. The bird feeders bring many small colorful birds. The play space out front has climbing logs, a bamboo teepee and some other assorted touch & learn items. We also enjoyed the main look by to relax as well as listen to the bird call box and learn about the indigenous people that once called this area home. Definitely a gem and would recommend anyone to come visit.

Although the nature center was closed due to COVID, there were very nice areas for kids to play nearby. The trails were well shaded and very scenic along the creeks and around the lake. Not too many bugs either. Well maintained, but still lots of roots and slight elevation changes.

Great location for kids birthday parties - - kids love running around the front area and have a great time with the various activities that they offer.

The center is nice. They have four birds (bold eagle, two hawks and one more), couple of turtles, eastern snake, corn snake, walking sticks. The exhibits were nice and interesting. The grounds and trails are also very nice. The only thing that I did not appreciate at all, was a staff member that is positioned right be the entrance. Don't get me wrong, I love reading and I am all for it, but not at work and instead of work. Since it was our first time there, I wanted to ask couple of questions. I gave up after one. After she looked up from her book and gave me one word answer while looking bothered she immediately went back to her reading. That was...

A great place to take kids with both indoor and outdoor fun to be had. Outside is a cluster of picnic tables and a bunch of natural elements to climb over and in and through. Inside the center is a forest replica, complete with cave and tunnel. There is also an early life in MoCo exhibit with bed, kitchen implements, and wooden toys the kids can touch and interact with. I didn't even go in one room, despite the intriguing title of "Curiosity Corner." Accessed from the back of the center are predatory birds who are recovering from injuries. It was a full morning of fun for us that ended with the perfect picnic lunch. We'll...
