This is a great stop on the tour of Antietam battlefield. Quaint little farm with a peaceful little graveyard. Very quiet and sobering to see the young ages that people died. "It is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgement. So Christ was once offered to bear the sins of many."

A beautiful farm on the site of the Battle of Antietam, the Mumma Farm was intentionally set ablaze by the Confederate forces prior to the battle because they were fearful the home and outbuildings would be used as cover for Federal sharpshooters.

My friend that went with me is related to Ike Mumma. It was a very interesting and informative visit.
