As parks go in Baltimore County, this small peninsula park has it all- beaches, boat launches, picnic areas, playgrounds, docks, sunrise AND sunset views, open fields where you can throw things for your dog and it usually isn't crowded... except on weekends, or family picnic holidays, or every day in the summer. Choose wisely. I gave it three stars because it needs some work. The walking and hiking paths need maintenance. Everywhere the water touches is visibly eroded, some places dangerously undercut. The consequence of its popularity during peak season is an unbelievable amount of littered trash, in spite of trash cans and dumpsters. This can make it a dangerous place to walk your dog, who is helpless to resist those KFC bones hiding in the grass. I don't know how to solve those issues. You can improve facilities and add amenities by throwing money into funding, but how can you make people respect the space enough to clean up after themselves? I mean, come on. How hard is it to bring a trash bag? Here's a suggestion for the Parks and Rec folks. Remodel the entrance gatehouse to include the currently hidden dumpsters. Issue a certain amount of marked trash bags with every group reservation. Get a 10 dollar deposit on every bag. When the people leave, they turn in their full bags of trash and get their money back. The more enterprising ones might even turn in other people's trash, that works too.

My family celebrated my newphew's 13th birthday on June 5 at the park. His father went to the park's headquarters at week prior to the event to reserve a pavilion to ensure everything concerning space, electric for music and comfort was taking care of. The cost was a total of $200. When we arrived to the park on the day of the event we was told that we had area H which is an area with picnic tables only and no pavilion or electric. We informed them it must be an error because we reserved a pavilion, and can we get this resolved. The manager or duty and a park ranger informed us that it was no way to get a pavilion even if it was an mistake and the difference for a pavilion was $50 dollars. However, no one else that day had an pavilion reserved! He said once the people come in, it's first come first serve and because they pay entry into the park they basically can have a pavilion for first! The manager showed no empathy nor did he apologize for any inconvenience that we were enduring. He finally, said I will give you a electric cord to run from the bathhouse to the picnic area. This was such an horrible treatment when you know you're the only one that paid to make sure things went well, and you're sitting in a dirty & trashy picnic area with uncleaned grills under only some covered trees and heat blasting through onto your guest, while watching the people in the pavilion enjoy with comfort for free. I strongly feel that management could've handle this with better professionalism, empathy, knowledge and more management experience dealing with unfortunate situations. We could have easily been moved to a pavilion in paid the $50 difference, in the issue would have been resolved. I do want to thank two staff members, Denisha for trying to assist even through the manager didn't care and Sean for trying to help us clean up the trash in our area. We're still out of $200 dollars, and our family members from out of state and friends left early. Please don't let this happen to you! The headquarters should've clearly made us aware that a pavilion would be $50 more and what we have was not a pavilion however, just picnic area. Which anyone could get for free. We also ask do we have electric, and they told us yes that we would just have to keep the music inside! How was that possible if we're completely outside anyways! Misrepresentation and very poor...

Beautiful scenes and Fall colors . FYI t desk check out is super slow , understaff ( just one person), while other workers walk around .... Restaurant is highly expensive and the quality of the food is not worth the Price. Waiting staff is friendly but needs more training our Coffee got cold waiting for the crema and sugar everyday!. Break a potatoes were super hard and the eggs from a container dry and tasteless. French a cinnamon Toast had not Cinnamon at all hardly any powered sugar and the white bread was thin... Dinner was also super expensive no worth the high prices $35 steak was super dry instead of medium well. No bread and butter before dinner even. The kitchen seems to be very far from dining room so be ready to wait. They should have covers for the dinner plates hat will help keep the heat on our dinner s were not hot at all and it was 6 of us. However the place is clean and well maintained plenty of outdoor sitting outside to relax and enjoy the view. There is also hiking and little paddling boats at the Lake . Free sodas, water and Coffee in the Casino. The staff is friendly just the Restaurant needs lots of improvement. The food quality is not good. So, Bring your own snacks bagels, cereals . That’s what we are doing next time ... Hopefully , diner will have improve...
