My family came here on a chilly night in December to see their Christmas light display. Every bush & tree was bathed in lights of white, blue, red & green outside the visitor center. It is free to the public. Volunteers were everywhere to help people park & offering to take family photos! It looked almost magical and like everyone else we took so many pictures. There was a nativity display in the middle of it all that looked dark compared to the surrounding lights. My grandchildren loved it. To warm up we went into the visitor center to walk around. We were there at about 8 pm & it was quite busy! Inside we saw more volunteers interacting with the people and a very tall tree simply but elegantly decorated for this most holy season. The center is open from 10 am to 9 pm. Tours of the temple are available for a fee. We could not stay very long as my grandchildren needed to get home and go to bed. Until next time be kind to each other. @yelpdc #templevisitorcenter #christmaslights #nativity ...
Read moreI happen to be a member of this church, so maybe I'm a bit to biased to give a helpful review here. If I was not a member of this church I would still really enjoy this visit. Everyone, including the young missionary kids were fun to talk with and kindly gave explanations when needed. They had some decent videos to show. There was a nice place to sit and relax and think. There were plenty of photo ops. Someone who is not a member of the church will not be able to go inside the temple proper, but you can walk all around the grounds and all through the interesting visitor center. There are some nice sculptures. There is a miniature model that describes everything that is inside the temple. This model it is my favorite thing in the visitor center. There are great Christmas lights during the Christmas season. Also during the Christmas season there are nightly Christmas presentations by choirs and Bell ringers and other musicians. A fine place to go and get into a meditative...
