Wheaton Claridge Local Park — Attraction in Maryland

Clean park with a nice stream that has a little bridge you walk over to get to the new playground. If you go off to the right of the playground there is access to the stream. I don't think you're really supposed to access it but it does have some nice shallow stream pools. Just look out for glass as the occasional ignorant person may leave trash there. There are also wooded trails, a clubhouse that you can rent, basketball court and picknick tables with charcoal grills. Really charming park with multiple entry points from the surrounding neighborhood. Beautiful giant beech trees and poplars. Stream clearly gets a lot of polluted run off from the neighborhood. Pretty small section of the trail closest to claridge road has broken glass often. I take my dog here and we avoid those sections and are still able to get some nice hill climbs near Medway and on the hilltop trail, and stream splashing (with bath afterwards).
