One of the historic landmarks in Cades Cove is Tipton Place. Once owned by Revolutionary War Vet William “Fighting Billy” Tipton, this two-story cabin from the 1870s is a time capsule. It has a large double-pen corn crib, old-fashioned bee gums, a blacksmith shop, and a cantilever barn. These barns held wagons, farming equipment, livestock, hays, and crops. A stroll through this site is like a journey back in time. While you’re in the Cades Cove loop, don’t forget to stop by...

Love the history in the building of the homes and etc. Its nice to see what the original people did and how they did it with little that they had very talented people. Wish there was some of them around still but they were pushed out so idk, sorry original owners wish y'all the best where ever y'all are at God Bless y'all and your families would've love to actually meet the original people that started Cades Cove.... Very nice considering...

Love the place and experience but management needs to step up their game. Few bathrooms, trash cans, and need signs at historical areas. I dont want to research something i traveled 200 miles to see. Also need an area with free wifi. No service after you enter the mountains...

This is a beautiful spot. We don't stop here very often but it was not crowded when we were there this time. There are some great historic structures here and it is nice to walk around and picture what it must have been like to live here.

What a wonderful place to visit and get a look at early Mountain life. Always a thrill to view the old cabins and barns. Beautiful place to walk and experience wildlife and nature at it's best. 11 miles on a one way road.
