Horserace Rapids Nature Trail — Attraction in Mastodon Township

Danger: Do not take children who will be running around to this trail. Or anyone who has even the slightest issue with stability. There are sheer drops near the trail that could be life ending, and it has actually happened. I was shocked that there were no warning signs. Aside from that, it is a really beautiful place with many great viewing points. Just be very careful and save the beers...

So glad I made the slight detour out here while on a trip to Wisconsin. Gravel road out is 7 miles one way. There is an outhouse. Trail to get down is not real suitable for anyone with mobility issues but it isn't too far. Bit of a hike down, staircase intact. I would consider this a very easy hike , you drop probably 500 feet in elevation, it is gradual. Coming up takes just a bit longer these days 🤷😁✌️
