This was my final day of 7 on Maui, i flew out that night. This beach is magic. A sea wall buffers a large area of the north shore from the rough Pacific waves and creates a pool-like experience for kids and adults alike.
Great for lap swimming, first ocean experiences and a low key crowd. Trees are quite far from the water and offer little shade, so come prepared with an umbrella, a rash guard or regular sunscreen applications for a day trip.
Snorkelers, the sea wall and surrounding large rocks are a magical wonderland of marine life. This was by far the beat of several snorkeling experiences. This is one of my favorite beaches because it's the closest to my house and it's safe for kids because of the dead coral reef that forms a protective barrier from the ocean. This place is popular with honus (turtles) so you'll see them inside the barrier area and sometimes on the beach. The beach is mostly locals but the tourists know about it too and do come here. Lots of people bring their dogs and they run around too making it a nice...
