Honamanu beach is a beautiful black sand beach on the road to Hana. There’s a dirt road that can take you to the beach or alternately you can park the car next to the highway and then take a small hike down to the beach. The hike will take roughly 5 minutes. Read moreOk. Definitely feeling blessed today. We we're on the road to Hana and saw Honomanu from the road. Decided to try to find a route down to it and succeeded. The 2nd entry around the bend has access for vehicles though it is relatively off-road and our Jeep was the right choice. A little bummed that I didn't bring a board with me but it was still a very cool experience to see this spot in nature. Definitely worth the trip. I enjoyed this spot more than any of the waterfalls. Read moreStopped by Honomanu bay on an adventure around the Northeastern side of Maui. This private little beach had a fairly well maintained dirt access road down to the black sand beach. We were driving a 4 wheel drive vehicle, which handled well. We would not recommend driving down the access road if your vehicle isn’t meant for off-roading, but you can park about a 5minute walk up the hill and enjoy the view at the beach.
