If visiting the Black Sand beach and Park be sure to add the walking track. Behind the warning signs( for legal reasons) are a decent path through the bush and after only a 2 minute walk you greeted with a spectacular fresh water caves. Despite looking a little scary upon first glance once you jump in and swim under the rocks your eyes adjust and you are treated to a view and special place that very few will ever visit with a fantastic story that goes along with it. Go away! Ultra cold welcome at the entrance of the waf anapanapa state park! No reservation made one week in advance will prevent you from accessing the trail. Nobody was inside the park, so we could easily have parked inside and walked for an hour. The group of people watching the entrance forbid us to do this. This is the entry to a short (closed) trail to a freshwater cave system. Many other reviews refer to the coastline trail.
