Amazing experience start to finish. They had no openings the week we were on island and my boyfriend decided to call to see if there was maybe a wait list. There was, and we lucked out to get a spot for today. From start to finish everyone was kind, helpful, and excellent with the animals. The ranch has a ton of other animals to pet and enjoy while you wait (baby peacocks and piglets and kittens, I was in heaven!!) And they provide cold drinks and water. The ride was wonderfully long, views were incredible, and they did a great job matching horse to rider. My horse Crab was a dream, super responsive and even though he got a little eager at the run I always felt safe and it was a blast. Someone in our group even fell (not the horse's fault, the rider got spooked at the gallop and it just sort of spiraled) and still the guides kept everyone calm and happy. The run was totally voluntary, nobody had to participate if they didn't want and I appreciated that the guides didn't sugar coat the gallop to be something easy for beginners especially with certain horses. I was happy to see their very real concern and love for each horse. Those were healthy, happy, well-treated babies. Would recommend this place to anyone, they love their animals and that is very important to me personally when I do things like this. Awesome awesome awesome, I'd live on this ranch...
Read moreOur first outing on our first trip to Maui. I loved every minute. The horses were friendly, the staff was great , Joe and his wife, the owners, and Sierra & Jayden who took us on the tour. The mountains to the sea, we saw whales in the distance! No waterfalls because there had been no rain and it is the dry side of Maui. Drive the road to Hana for waterfalls and rain forest!
It was a bit confusing at first, if it were explained that we had to drive past the entrance and turn around to enter from the right hand lane, up a very steep dirt road, that would've stopped our "what are doing" reaction.
Lovely little animals to pet once there and juice and water provided. Very good directions on how to handle the horses. Only concerning thing was no water was provided for the horses on the half way mark of the 2 hour ride or straight away on the return. Other than that, they seemed very well cared for and loved. Conversation with the owner proved that. I would...
Read moreThe ride was nice, however we could barely see the waterfalls and the horses don't take you to the walk along the ocean so calling it a waterfall ocean tour is false advertising, also, the guides were nice bur gave me a horse that didn't match my skill.level, was grumpy and uncontrollable and they didn't try to keep my with my partner Lastly what sucked the most was I saw NO water for the horses anywhere, when we got back the guides made sure to drink water but didn't take not one horse to get water or have a bowl, one was hitting an empty water bowl and you could see their need for water on the extremely hot day I've been on a lot of rides and every single one they brought the horses back to water. Broke my heart. So yes nice tour friendly guides but they don't care about you staying with your partner there is no waterfall or ocean tour and the horses for no water upon return....
