Waikamoi Ridge Trail is a peaceful forest retreat along the Road to Hana, offering lush greenery, shaded pathways, and hidden waterfall views. My family and I love stopping here for a quiet picnic, surrounded by the sounds of nature and the occasional trickle of flowing water. The short but rewarding trail winds through towering trees, making it an ideal spot to stretch your legs.

The waterfall scenery adds to the charm, providing moments of serenity along the walk. Though not the most famous stop, its tranquil beauty makes it a perfect break from the drive. If you're looking for a relaxing and scenic escape, Waikamoi Ridge Trail is a great place to pause and appreciate Maui’s...

The trail is obstructed by a bunch of trees a little ways in for a stretch of nearly 100 feet. There is a bit of a path over it that has been tramped down, and it’s nothing technical, so most should be able to make it. There is also a pretty long section that was very muddy, and made worse by the fact it was starting to rain when we arrived. The trail is easygoing and doesn’t have much in the way of good sights, but just the forest itself and the big trees and plants were pretty and made for a peaceful walk.

This was a nice stop to break up the drive on the Road to Hana — I would recommend stopping here if for no other...

Not worth the time spent.

The front loop has two halves - right one is mostly paved with steps, easy accessible for most of hikers. Left one is a forest path with lots of roots and is extremely slippery during wet times. During our visit there were multiple broken trees blocking the way as well.

The upper part of the trail (the one leading to upper picnic area) is slippery tree root hiking. Mostly mosquitos, not views. At the top there is a bamboo patch and a picnic table.

Two ways with younger kids took over an hour with limited joy and lots of careful steps. Won't...

This is a great hike away from the crowds at Twin Falls. We only encountered a few people on our 1-hour hike. That makes sense since there's only enough parking for about a half dozen cars. It's a rugged hike over uneven tree roots and rocks. There are great bamboo paths and scenic outlooks. The trail ends at a small creek. Unfortunately, there's no way to access the streams unless you can scale up and down some concrete structures (not recommended and dangerous). Overall, this is a nice hike for people who want to experience some of that Maui rainforest without the crowds.

There are not many parking spaces. I think it holds 6-8 cars, but it is easy to pull into. The trail is an easy walk. The rain forest is very thick, so it is hard to get a good view of the ocean. I was the driver for our family. I found this to be a great first stop on the Road to Hanna. Gave me a little time to appreciate what the next 20 or so miles of roadway would be like.
