I wish I could leave a NEGATIVE 5 Star Review! I cannot emphasize enough how awful our experience was!!! I would NEVER go here again & I wish I had read the LONG LIST of awful reviews before stepping foot in the building. One individual in our group was RAMMED into a wall by some kid (who the staff admitted to having problems with each time he's there to race), but after the other racer hit her, SHE was kicked off the track after around 2 minutes of the race for hitting the wall. Another individual from our group, during the same race, was rammed repeatedly by the same kid. This kid did not get kicked off the track. All racers had to stop while they escorted one from our party off the track and they didn't stop the time so our "8 minutes" turned into around 6. After the race, we talked with the staff about the incident and they explained that this kid causes problems every time he's there. I was expecting them to offer a refund (at the very least for our friend that didn't get to even finish one race), but they offered no resolution other than that they would "talk to him". I explained that we should receive a refund because we were not in the wrong. They explained that because no one saw the incident, it was our word against his. I explained that if no one saw the incident, it was unfair for them to black flag anyone. I then asked to speak with the manager. I have never met anyone as unprofessional as this individual. I asked him to review the camera footage of the race so that he could see that no one in our party had done anything wrong ~ he initially lied saying that they didn't have cameras on the track. Then when I explained to him that we had already been told that there were cameras on the track, he said well yeah there are cameras, but we don't review footage for that kind of thing. I asked him why he couldn't review the footage to confirm what had occurred & he explained that he "didn't want to". I was very angry at this point because as a group we paid around $120 for less than 8 minutes & a black flag. I asked the kids up front for the managers name & they told me that they didn't know his name, that his name was "Mr. Manager", then walked away laughing and vaping....I asked for the owner's information & was denied even a first name or contact info for the owner. After reading so many reviews of this exact scenario with the exact same individual I am AMAZED that they are still in business & that any of the staff still have jobs. This is an abhorrent way to operate a business & I would not give them another penny. I was able to learn the owner's info & am supposed to be speaking with her tomorrow. I hope that the owner is more competent than the employees under her. Will update with...
Read moreUnfortunately leaving a one start review after this weekends experience and mainly due to the response via email from the manager, Justin, when addressing our concerns. As seen in past responses of negative reviews, he likes to snarkily suggests visiting Frankie’s or bumper karting when expressing your negative experience instead of having a conversation with integrity. I expect he will do the same here.
Me and my boyfriend visited this past weekend and have been here in the past and actually travel places to go karting. I guess I will start with the costumer service. Both times we attended, we did not feel welcomed at all. The staff was very cold and dead faced as if they did not want to be there. The second time coming in, I had to loosen the front desk lady up by trying to crack a few jokes, which I have learned to do from working customer service. I will say there was one blonde wavey headed kid in the kart area who was very nice and helpful with buckling and my helmet. The other blonde straight haired guy, not so much.
They recently got new Karts which we have not ridden in and the handling and peddling was different. I guess this comes with upping their bumping policy, which brings me to making this review. The first time around, we accidentally bumped each other (not even hard) when going around a curb. Whoops, it’s bound to happened. We’re in an karting rink with plastic around the kart and plastic around the track. Our bad. And I apologized. The straight haired blonded whole demeanor changed even more and he stopped us and said if we bump again, they are going to kick us out. Which I was actually taken aback from considering it was a complete accident on our first time around. The second time around the track, we did not bump but the blonde haired straight kids just had a cold dead look on his face holding up the no bumping sign as we passed (as if we had bumped again)
Fast forward a race or two, another couple came on the track with us. My boyfriend accidentally bumped when going around a curve. Also i would like to add they only have one passing lane on a tiny track. They stopped him on the track and made him get out of the kart and wouldn’t pull it around. It was embarrassing.
I understand the importance of implementing your policy, but the whole vibe was off from the start. Justin, I suggest that you should invest in some customer service classes and care about costumer retention as much as you do your plastic covered karts and track.
UPDATE TO JUSTIN’S RESPONSE: my review is my experience. Therefore,...
Read moreThe sport is fun, and my group had a lot of fun. I'm leaving a 2-star review only because of the miscommunication with the staff. I had called ahead of time to make a reservation for my company. When I called to request information, I stated that this is my first time doing an activity like this with my team, so I asked them for advice on group options and pricing. Since my party had over 20 people, they recommended doing a group package. I asked if they had a website where I could review the pricing options, but they said no and then proceeded to ask if I wanted to make a reservation. I said yes and told them that I would come with ABOUT 23 people. The lady said ok and immediately put me on the schedule. I then arrived at Speed Factory with most of my team; some were unable to attend due to various reasons. To my surprise, the lady at the counter told me that I had to pay for the people who didn't show up. I stated that this was not communicated to me when I was asked to make a reservation. When I called to request information, I informed the staff that I didn't know how making a reservation worked and told them my party was ABOUT 23 people. After saying those two things, they should've communicated with me about having to give them an exact number of people and about no-show fees. After a lot of back and forth, I asked if I could pay for the admission of people who didn't show up, but allow me to play the round with my team. THEY SAID NO. This was very frustrating because it was a lot of money, and I feel like they took advantage of the situation. I ended up paying for the no-show and proceeded to play with my team because it seemed there was nothing I could do. To my other discontent, I then found out that we couldn't even pick our teams, so we didn't get to play against the people that we wanted. Overall, it was a very poor experience. I would be willing to delete this review and return with my team if I could speak with a manager and receive a refund or credit for the no-show fee...
