My favorite place theres alot of history here and yes every picture me and my wife took together had yellow ORBS behind us and when i crab there at night i always have a visitors just voices like people are walking and talking but u cant see them ghosts that they are read up on this place there was a BIG war on the water and alot of blood the Spild in the water from people in the battle of the war they say at night they come out and roam around the people that died on the water they say they think that they're still working and there's work to do every time I go here I always hear voices at night but never see anyone and me and my wife is always here by yourself at night because it's so peaceful and a Ghost Ship is in the middle of the haase's Marina and the East Point Lighthouse between them two places in the dead center of the water there is a old wooden ship that was left out there and it is stuck in the middle of the water if you have binoculars you would be able to see it's amazing here and so much history to learn it's so much to learn I haven't learned it all the past two years I've been coming here it's an awesome place the best place to get crabs little big crabs peaceful and quiet mess beautiful place just for peace and quiet if you ever need it I am not lying about what we hear what we have seen I am a sober person I do not do alcohol drugs or Ave in any kind I am a Cancer survivor of ovarian and this is a place I found wow I was battling cancer last year 2020 so I started to come here more often to just get away and sit by the work it doesn't bother me that there are ghost they do not harm you or bother you or touch you they just hang around and when it reaches around 9 or 9:30 at night they alert you and tell you to leave to go home that it's late one time me and my wife and my sister was sitting by the secret Island that they have there that nobody really knows about you cannot drive there you can only walk there andaz full covered of seashells around the whole island we were there at 9 p.m. there is a ship that is a bandit that sits on the water and it flashed a light off the ship at us directly at us and then it shut off so we left that is a sign of them telling us it's time to go home work is done it's very cool if you go there and observe the area on your free time and just relax trust me is very peaceful and things do not scare me so I'm never afraid...
Β Β Β Read moreI grew up on Thompson beach road as a child it was a wonder land of play. Motorcycles horses and hunting. The birds that came every year to migrate just amazed me. Went back to learn almost all records no longer exist. Sadly so many people lived loved and laughed together. Most of them have passed. There homes gone. Taken away by the state of NJ. It is now a persevere my heart felt much better knowing the wild life cycle is still as magical with a little more gratitude. Highly recommend going for the walk to the beach. You will find some old homes that once stood side by side and enjoyed by the friends and family's that once lived...
Β Β Β Read moreIt's amazing, being able to walk for 1 1/2 hours on a beach in NJ in the summer and not see a single person. You have to walk maybe 10+ minutes on an unpaved road from the parking area to the beach, but it's through a marsh, which makes the walk pleasant. Wonderful, having that isolation. And it's great for dogs (it was my pooch's first exposure to the ocean). Good bird watching opportunities, too - there's an egret nest visible from the observation area adjacent to the parking lot.
