Mackay Bar is a beautiful place located in the center of Idaho on the Salmon River. It is surrounded by the Frank Church wilderness area. Mackay bar is a great guest ranch and outfitter. They have great steelhead fishing, back country elk hunting along with bear and wolf hunting. My family and I have stayed at Mackay Bar several times and love the experience that we get there. My husband and I have visited twice before and loved it! This year we opted for a trip with family and cant wait to do it again. It’s a perfect blend of activities for a large group to do together or step away for something separate. From fishing to swimming and short hikes, there was something for everyone.
