Stickney Run Conservation Area — Attraction in McHenry

We have never had any issues here. We have loved coming to Stickney Run. It was our sacred spot during the pandemic when we needed to get out of the house. We recently visited on both Saturday, October 25, 2025 to enjoy the yearly tour of the Mosgrove Cemetery with a McHenry County Conservation guide in 2025. It was beautiful. Lovely walk around the water ! The trails were secluded & well wooded ! Can’t wait to go there in the summer ! Small board walk trail that takes you to a neat little spot by the marsh ! It's very good and peaceful, but the walking distance is too short, unless you take the risk and climb up wild roads .. worst thing about this place is the fact of mosquitos .. there is an infinite number is these creatures and they prevented me from taking great photos unfortunately .. if you go there go...
